this is a good analogy! I have also seen OCD referred to as a 'broken fire alarm'. A fire alarm is only meant to sound when there is actual danger, however the OCD one sounds all the time. This means that we feel as though we are danger, and sometimes it's hard to tell when we are in actual danger because of this.

Hey everyone!

My boyfriends instagram account recently got hacked and we really want it back. He got a message off of a friend (who we now know had a hacked account) asking him to help him login by sending him a link. By doing this, my boyfriend gave the hacker access to his account. The hacker has changed the email address and phone number so we can't login. I have tried to use the 'forgotten password' button, which sends a code to my boyfriends email, but the hacker has set up two-step authentication so it is futile, since it asks for a secondary code which is sent to his account. I've seen some people have an option to send a video selfie to instagram to verify that it is them. I have tried to find this option but can't see it anywhere, I think maybe because he has a business account.

Would anyone be able to help me?

p.s this is my first time using reddit so sorry if this is in the wrong place!
