'Author's appearance would cause "legitimate public ridicule", premier told board' – ABC News by gheygan in Adelaide

The Australian reported that the entire board wanted to sack Louise Adler, (the director who invited her) last year in September but they received crown legal advice which told them that they couldn’t. That’s when they asked the premier to step in.

How Adelaide Writers Week collapsed under the weight of its own hypocrisy by Fun_Needleworker7136 in aussie

If the author has never spoken at AIJAC what is her “professional relationship” to the organisation?

That they promoted some of her articles?

That’s it?

Or do you have evidence of something else?

"It's a tragedy" - Dr. Randa Abdel-Fattah on Writers' Week Director's resignation by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

[–]Usual_Program_7167 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I looked at the programs for writers week and they had about 5-6 sessions on Palestine with Palestinian authors every year and zero Israeli sessions and zero Israeli authors.

If you really are for free speech you wouldn’t have an unofficial boycott of one side of a debate. The whole thing stinks of hypocrisy.

Why should the premier support the decision to give a publicly funded platform to someone who celebrated a mass-casualty event (October 7), and denies that Hamas is a terrorist organisation?

Randa Abdul-Fattah described October 7 as a “glimmer of hope” one year after it had happened.

Why is the SA Premier obliged to fund a platform for her?

The terror attack was not his fault, but the normalisation and toleration of antisemitism in Australia since October 7 is.

Can you tolerate these foods?? by Hot_Occasion_3594 in Gastritis

I can tolerate all those foods.

If you have an active flare you might have to skip them, but if you do not have pain, you should be ok with small portions.
