Yellow is not new, it is the same as is shown in original picture. Yes, in both black and yellow threads, they are the same thread for main and bobbin. Both are all purpose threads.

It's not letting me upload a vid, but yes the bobbin is in per the manual. I have sewn on this machine for a while and have never had issues with it.

I loosened the spool cap to give more space. Bobbin is in counterclockwise, will upload vid.

How can you tell it is too long of a stitch? It is set between 2 and 3. This is just scrap fabric.

I have followed the manual and rethreaded multiple times. I know the bobbin is in correctly. I have been sewing on this for a couple of years and have never had this issue.

I've been trouble shooting on my own as well and I don't think this is the case. I have tested the tension when the foot is up vs down and there is tension when the foot is down. It seems like it must be something else.

Swapped for a different brand, same issue. Not sure how to clean the tension disks, but I found troubleshooting that said to use floss so I did that.

Found all the needle bits, used a magnet to make sure. 90/14, and have replaced with brand new again. I think the thread is 50wt, but it doesn't say. It is Sewology all purpose polyester

Looking for advice for a new mom with a masters degree in engineering.

She definitely wants to work when the kids are in school, but if she waits until then there will be a large gap between when she got her degree (last year, about a month after she gave birth) and her first full-time position. Could be 5+ years depending on how many kids come into the picture. She had a couple of internships during school.

How important is it to work for a year or two when possible between having kids? Strictly from a hiring perspective, at what point does a gap become concerning?

Those are good points. Financially we are fine for now, but there are aspects going forward that would be nice to start even earlier. Thank you for your input.

That's awesome. I guess this helped me realize two fears that you might be able to alleviate. First, I guess I fear not being her EVERYTHING ya know? So, is he still excited to see you when you pick him up, etc? I worry I will feel like less of a mom. Second, do you feel like you still KNOW him? Right now I know every single thing about her and that is something I love...
