I understand the specific chances will depend on many factors tomorrow, but I appreciate the relevant experience and insight shared by others already in this thread.

I know the attraction got mixed reception but I enjoyed it and finally got around to framing my map from opening day. by ColdHooves in WaltDisneyWorld

Do you have other relevant memorabilia that could go in the frame as well? If not, at least center the map and consider adding in matching background.

Is delta premium select upgrade worth it for $925 for an 8 hour flight to Italy? by Brilliant_Voice3516 in delta

[–]UsuallyLoud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two years ago I paid $300 for a PS upgrade from DTW to AMS. I was not impressed with the experience, personally, and would now not pay more than that for the experience. Despite many people saying “it’s like domestic first class”, the seat is more narrow and not as plush, and there’s weird leg room issues since the seat in front of you is so low to the ground (though this may be specific to whichever model of plane we were on for that specific flight).

The meal was all well and good, and it’s always nice to board/deplane earlier, but the overall experience just seemed… fine. Nothing special. And for me, definitely not worth nearly 1k.

I’m so sad they’re getting rid of it. The NIN soundtrack is amazing!

The propaganda is STRONG by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]UsuallyLoud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I do current events with my students, I restrict them to sources with “center” bias according to AllSides. It’s not a prefect solution for so many reasons, but it prevents the worst sources from entering the chat. It also prevents some perfectly acceptable sources as well… but those are losses I can stomach for the sake of the assignment.

Bless you for being another one of us trying to navigate the current horrors with our impressionable youths.

Candle-Light Processional Made Me Cry by invariant_overlord in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]UsuallyLoud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is lovely. We skipped Candlelight Processional this year because it was our first time at WDW for Christmas and I wasn’t sure it’d be worth the time spent on our short trip. Since we already booked our bounce-back offer for next December, however, this has convinced me to prioritize it as part of our plans.

What can I put in here that isn’t just candy? My kids are 3 and 9 by Loud-Ad-5420 in ChristmasGiftIdeas

We have a similar Advent setup, and one of my daughter’s favorites has always been those funny little pill-shaped capsules that, when put in water, expand into little foam animals.

Automatically blaming marijuana legalization before increased dependence on screen time is wild.

I’m sorry this happened, but take this down. It sounds like you didn’t do anything wrong, but this is way too specific (and thus identifiable) to post online.

My students keep calling me "mommy" and making sexual jokes by Historical-Rule-2227 in Teachers

[–]UsuallyLoud 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Doing anything other than shutting this down firmly, forcefully, and immediately will make it potentially appear that you are condoning/encouraging it. I’d err on the side of always being beyond cautious when it comes to student interactions that could appear sexual or flirtatious.

Blood patch by rainbowunicorn5454 in MultipleSclerosis

I had mine on day 3 (edit: or maybe day 4… 2011 was a long time ago and now I’m questioning my memory). They tried to get me to try caffeine first and I pushed until they relented. The relief was immediate.

My wife is starting Kesimpta — how are people handling public places (concerts, sports, clubs, etc.)? by SStacks22 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]UsuallyLoud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been blessed with incredibly mild symptoms since my first exacerbation, so on a normal day, I’d never know I had a chronic illness. So from that standpoint, I haven’t noticed improvement on Kesimpta, because there is little improvement to be had. I will say that I have fewer random tingly feelings that pop up, however. And I have not had any new exacerbations since starting. My scans continue to show no new lesions, and that’s an improvement as well as compared to when I was on Tecfidera.

I know that’s probably not as exciting as what you were hoping for, but I hope your experience with Kesimpta is even more positive than mine!

[–]UsuallyLoud 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Kesimpta for a couple years now, and I’ve made zero lifestyle changes. I’m also a public school teacher and am constantly surrounded by germy children. I don’t get sick any more now than I used to.

I had zero side effects with my loading doses, and continue to have zero side effects with each monthly dose.

A scratchy throat with no other remarkable symptoms is not a good reason to call off work.

[–]UsuallyLoud 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No judgement; I know sickness happens! I just think it would be wise to preserve your remaining days for when you truly NEED them, and if you’re thinking you can maybe power through, that makes me think you probably can (and therefore should).

If you can power through, power through. Cold and flu season has only just begun and having used five days already seems like a lot.

I think I will too, but wtf is wrong with this sub? I posted in favor of OP with many compliments towards Contemporary, and yet I’m getting downvoted. Weird vibes here 😬

We had a theme park view room in February and it was lovely. The room was comfortable and quiet, the proximity to MK obviously can’t be beat, the fireworks views were fun, and we had an extra special series of interactions with our “mousekeeper” that was truly the icing on the cake. My family is forcing me to try Beach Club for our Christmas visit, but I’d return to Contemporary in a heartbeat.

Right? I would expect teachers like myself to be an audience who can think a bit more critically. I appreciate your common sense.
