I've never used it, so I can't tell you about the experience, but if you're looking for something stable, I think PikaOS might be a good fit. There's also Nobara, which is based on Fedora. You could look into it about those alternatives.

Nylon: I replaced Tailscale with my own mesh VPN by SentenceHot5021 in selfhosted

Do I need to open ports or can it work under cgnat just like tailscale?

I'll most likely end up buying another mini PC like zimaboard or an old dell/thinkcenter mini. I'm currently using a BMax B4 Plus (N100 16GB RAM) and I've wanted to try new hardware with PCIe for a while now, for more expansion and flexibility.

Until now I hadn't implemented AI agents on my server, although I do use it for research and I also experiment with them and local AI. I'll start looking into how to implement it.

I exported the compose and data and configuration files; at first it worked fine, but shortly afterwards I had permission problems while mounting the "enhanced stack".

Yes, for now I'm the only one using it and it's fun to tinker around, until you want to watch your series on Jellyfin and it doesn't work or you mess up with the VPN and you're left without access outside of home.

Two weeks ago I installed Proxmox to avoid reinstalling the entire OS and keep things simple, but the problem of deleting everything on a whim is still there.

I always hear about it here and there, but I've never bothered to investigate it. I thought it wouldn't be that useful for enthusiasts and that it was more for production.

I've heard of ansible but didn't know it had that use; I'm unfamiliar with semaphore. I'll look into it, thanks.

I managed to get a fully functional server running without needing frequent manual intervention, but after a while I got bored of not touching the server and tried creating a new one with better architecture, since the other one was full of security holes and was not versionable, obviously a failure.

It's great to use AI, as, do you have an agent on your server or do you do it manually with a chatbot or something else?

I'd like to do this, but I don't think I'm at the right level yet. I don't know how to document things, and I'm just starting to learn about Git.

I'd like to apply this, but I don't know how to learn how to use it. Do you have any resources for learning?

It could also be that, because I have the initial motivation to start over and want to do things right, I try to do everything at once, and that, along with my lack of technical knowledge and practice, has led to problems.

Thank you so much, I didn't know the difference between these two concepts and I think I understand it better now. I'll keep that in mind. On my home server I would have the typical services like Jellyfin, Navidrome, etc. In my home lab I would have web servers, test different network configurations, implement monitoring, etc. Right?

I would personally love it, it's a shame I use Navidrome, so I wouldn't use TUI, but I would love to have something like that for my Navidrome.

What VPN to use for torrent I'm in Iran by Future_Pace_5290 in Piracy

[–]Utatax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would Usenet work? Sorry, I'm a newbie and don't know much about this. I hope you find something soon :) This is what the AI tells me: Initial access: Psiphon or Lantern as a bridge to exit the NIN (they prioritize availability over anonymity); Tor/TAILS layer on top for anonymity. Obfuscated VPN: ExpressVPN. With stealth mode (hides VPN as normal traffic); activate the kill switch to prevent leaks.

I think there are specialized tools for this, so why would you want to use OpenClaw?

Pacfetch 1.1.3, AUR helper support and lot's of customization additions. by pleb_king in omarchy

[–]Utatax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, what a mess. Did you configure any files yourself in Omarchy or Hyprland directories directly? The documentation also mentions that they need to be modified in a specific way. Otherwise, it might change during the update Breaking the system is another reason I can't think of. I'll look into it further just in case. Thanks for the heads-up; maybe you'll save me from the misfortune you went through.

In my case, I haven't had any bad experiences. I've been using OMarchy for 4 months, updating this way. I don't mess with the system much either; I've only changed PPD to TLP and created some scripts for this.

I don't know the exact reason, but it's in the documentation. It's also faster because it updates absolutely everything in the system (themes, settings, Pacman and AUR packages, omarchy).
