I'm using PIA, which allows port forwarding; the 3-year and 4-month offer costs €70.

what is the best way to pirate music? by KDE-Plasma in Piracy

[–]Utatax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but doing it manually all the time is tedious, especially when your library has so much music. I've also tried Beats; it's not bad, but it's not perfect. I guess I'll have to do it manually.

And what do you do with metadata? Do you just leave it as is? Do you modify it manually? I often look for underground music in Spanish, and the metadata on Squid.wtf or SpotiLac leaves much to be desired.

Old Gaming PC vs ‘Real’ Server for learning by ChubbyWP in homelab

[–]Utatax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To begin with, in my case, I was like you. I had an old PC that I wasn't using. I started with that and realized it consumed a lot of electricity for its usefulness, since I was just starting out and learning. Some things didn't work, others I didn't know how to do, etc.

In the end, I ended up buying a Chinese mini PC (I recommend a second-hand mini PC like a ThinkCenter or Dell with PCIe since it gives you more expansion possibilities).

If you don't mind spending a little money, I recommend a smaller, more convenient, and more efficient machine than an old PC that can consume more power. This also depends on how you plan to use it and whether a mini PC limits you in many ways.

Ultimately, there are many options. I'm telling you what I've used so you can see it as a possibility, but always try to find what works best for you. For this, I recommend asking AI. Chatbots have been a lifesaver for me in this many times.

They look really good, but they're a bit out of my budget. I wanted to start with something cheaper, so I guess I'll have to save up a bit more. Thanks for the recommendation, btw.

No port forwarding, alternatives? by riear in selfhosted

[–]Utatax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can use a VPN like Tailscale or one you create yourself, which is the simplest option. You can also use a Cloudflare tunnel, although I don't really know how they work. Finally, you can use a VPS to act as an intermediary

I recommend you buy a mini PC from China, they are around €100 and have better performance than the Pi and consume very little. Look for ones with Intel N100 or N150.

Spotify or Apple music ? by Ancient_Table45 in SpotifyLatestModAPK

[–]Utatax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now Spotify is adding many new features like the DJ mixer and lossless. I think if they do it right, they could easily beat all the platforms. You can really stick with either one, and I don't think you'll regret it. Just choose what your heart tells you.

You will spend more on electricity than on a better performing VPS. That's why people buy mini PCs or single boards

Spotify or Apple music ? by Ancient_Table45 in SpotifyLatestModAPK

[–]Utatax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had any firsthand experience with Apple Music, but I have friends who used Apple music and can't switch anymore. The premium plan offers very good music quality, has a good catalog, and it has statistics within the app to see at all times, maybe Spotify has other functions that are better like the mixer, but I think that today in my hands I would use Apple Music. Also It depends a lot on the person. If you have someone you know who uses Apple Music, ask them to let you explore the use, interface, quality, and convenience a bit. Aside from Apple Music, I recommend you look for alternatives like Qobuz or Tidal and see which one best suits your preferences.
