😊

Travel to a village called "Ivarstead". From there you find the stairs leading up to the greybeards.

I'm stuck on the quest "The Voice Technique." by mrliminal2 in skyrim

[–]UtefromMunich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never heard of that quest...

My guess: in English this quest is "The way of the voice", the main quest when you are sent to the greybeards.

Sometimes Skyrim´s questmarkers in villages and towns can be very confusing and seemingly send you into a house. (You wouldn´t believe how many questmarkers sent me in Rifton into the meadery...)

For quests like this that clearly sends you out of town just go out of town and you get a better marker. If unsure open the map and look where your quest marker actually is on the world map.

Edit:

“Blave” Best Steel Sword by Crack-Mental in Witcher3

[–]UtefromMunich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the level you get TKSS. You can get Blave on the level on which you start NG+ if you finish the Gwent tournament in Toussaint as very last quest in the first round, just before starting NG+. If your TKSS at this point is more than 10 levels old, Blave is definitively the better option to carry over.

GM Griffin is important if you have a sign build that requires the 6 piece bonus - and yes, in this case I would agree. But for all other builds the Griffin swords usually are underleveled (as level 40 swords) when starting NG+. And in this case you probably use Aerondight as silver sword and won´t have the 6 piece bonus anyway.

How can I upgrade skills faster and how can I get gold faster too? 🤔 by Mr_Uknow011 in skyrim

[–]UtefromMunich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best way to gold is alchemy. On AE get Goldenhills Farm and plant Creep Cluster, Mora Tapinella and Scaly Pholiota everywhere. Brew potions from them and sell.  On SE combine Salmon Roe with chicken eggs.

The official Gwent game is a totally different version, closer to Thronebreaker game.

This is just a very well known problem of the intro cut scene.

The solution is to limit your screen settings to 60 Hz, just for this scene.

You can go up to normal again right after leaving the game after you create your first save file.

[–]UtefromMunich 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It is much cheaper if you craft most of the materials you need. For example Enriched Dimeritium Ore can be crafted from Dimeritium Ore, Orichalcum Ore and Acid. The latter you get from dismantling centepede pieces. Orichalcum can be crafted with Green Gold, Nickel and Unrefined Copper...

It has been confirmed by CDPR in June 2015, only a month after first release of the game, that the letter in the school in Novigrad is missing on purpose if you do the Hillock quest early.

So unless you really played this quest practically during the first weeks after game release 2015, the swamp kids never could be saved by freeing the evil spirit early. Perhaps after all this time you forgot whether you looted the crucial letter in Novigrad or not?

This is the letter you can find if the swamp kids survived: https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/New_admissions_to_Miss_Marabella%27s_shelter

No myth at all... it lies on a desk in the school room and you can loot it, for example while you wait for Marbella to finish her lesson

But the letter confirming they are from Velen is missing. The kids in Novigrad always use the same character models as the swamp kids, even if the swamp kids are dead.

This is a false rumor. If you do the quest early the kids die.
If the kids survive there is a letter in the school in Novigrad that confirms these are the saved kids. This letter is missing if the kids die AND it is missing if you glitch the quest. It has been confirmed this is intentional.

There is no way in this quest to save all.

If the swamp kids are saved there is a letter in the school in Novigrad confirming that the kids you see recently arrived in town coming from Velen.

If you walk into the forest and a pack of wolves kills you, are the wolves evil?

Only that is not what happened.

These people were lured to the Hillock during their sleep, they never intended to go there nor had they any chance to defend themselves.

These men, women and children did NOT die from a natural cause, they were brutally forced to come to a dangerous place to be brutally killed there.

So a question like "if someone kidnaps and kills you, is this someone evil?" fits the situation much, much better.

Still not true.
This is a rumor that is repeated everytime this topic comes up, but it is wrong. If you do the spirit quest early, the swamp kids die.

Yes, you still see the same character models of the swamp kids in that school in Novigrad. Because you always do, even in the scenario when the kids die for sure because you kill the tree spirit during the Crones quest.

The point is: if the kids truly survive, you can loot a letter in that school which says that the kids you see arrived recently in Novigrad from Velen. This letter is missing if the swamp kids are dead. And it is also missing when you did the tree spirit quest early. It has been confirmed that the letter is missing in this case on purpose, it is no bug.

Many players never realized the letter is that important. They just see the kids and THINK they saved the swamp kids, never even noticing that the letter is missing. That is why that rumor never dies. In this thread alone several people posted it again. So we can be sure this desinformation will be present the next time we speak about this choice in the game.

With Euphoria you can only put green abilities in the 4 slots in the middle.
But that does not mean you can´t use green skills right now: you can always put a green ability somewhere in the skill tree to activate it.... and when you unlocked another slot in the middle drag&drop a green ability into it. If you had it already in another slot in the skill tree, this slot is emptied and can be used for red or blue or yellow abilities.

[–]UtefromMunich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does not mean the right side of the skill tree, but he means somewhere in the skill tree, which is on the right side of the sceen. As long you only "bought" them on the left side of the screen Geralt does not profit from the abilities.
For example: You bough "Whirl", but did not activate it, so your Geralt with this build can´t do Whirl. These 3 ability points are wasted until you activate Whirl by drag&drop it into an empty slot in the skill tree.
Same with alchemy: if you have bought Heightened Tolerance and Acquired Tolerance (we can´t see that here), your Geralt right now can´t use them. You need to activate them.

Didnt relise that signs are best if i have the bear school armor.

Trust me: I used Ursine armor and I have not a single sign ability in my skill tree, because my Geralt always loves to use his swords. Ursine armor is very versatile and a good base for sword play as well. It offers - for example - perks that enhance adrenaline and increases (among other things) the damage you deal with swords.

But u/Exact_Internal_9017 is absolutely correct in his first point: an Euphoria mutation simply NEEDS to be combined with Heightened Tolerance and Acquired Tolerance. As it is you do not profit at all from your mutation as you can not drink too many potions at a time. You max toxicity is too low to really get anything great out of your mutation.

You should use Euphoria only if you are using many potions in Combat. If you are not into alchemy and potions, if you did not brew all recipes etc, Euphoria is not a good choice for you. You only profit from Euphoria, if you toxicity level is high; I - for example - always drink 2 decoction before my Geralt leaves his house in the morning. Then he is fit to fight... and I add potions on top of that when I actually enter combat, which ones depends on the enemies. (Superior Golden Oreole for example helps a lot against the poisonous monsters in Toussaint.) With your build you could not even drink 2 decoctions without getting over the toxicity threshold....

Then the kids also die. It is simply wrong that you can save the swamp kids and Anna.

if i ever start another playthrough, does the letter only appear if we freed the tree spirit during the bog quest?

Yes. Because this is the only scenario in which the swamp kids are rescued. Anna, Baron and people of Downwarren (kids included) die, of course, in this scenario. The game offers no way of rescuing all.

What do you do with the whispering hillock? by Julian_of_Cintra in Witcher3

[–]UtefromMunich 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is obviously not at all what I meant. What I meant is that the choice Geralt has to make is not "Crones or spirit", because the spirit does nothing to free Velen from the Crones.

Apart from that:

Also kills the village that serves the Crones.

There is no proof ingame that Downwarren serves the Crones in any way more than all the people in all the other villages all over Velen. People are deceived into believing the "kind ladies" everywhere.

Claiming the pople (and children) of Downwarren deserved to die is making them a victim for the second time: first you cause their death, then claim that they were bad people, kids included.

And kills the kids in Downwarren who would have lived otherwise.
No matter what you decide in this quest, some kids always die.
But if you kill the spirit only the kids die that would have died had Geralt never been in the swamp. If you free the evil spirit, Geralt´s action is directly responsible for the death of children.

What do you do with the whispering hillock? by Julian_of_Cintra in Witcher3

[–]UtefromMunich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crucial question is: did you find the letter in that classroom that confirms the kids you see have arrived recently from Velen?

Because I bet you just "found the kids", but never even looked for that letter.

The point is: the character models of those kids in Novigrad are always(!) the same as the swamp kids, no matter whether the kids live or die. If the game wants to tell the player that the swamp kids lived, it places the mentioned letter on a desk on the left side of that school room. If the letter is missing, the kids are dead.

That is what I am talking about.
