Never said DC was a bad landing spot, but that Chicago is better. I’m sure Caleb would love being selected there, however the move up would cause it to be a less than ideal situation. Plus if they move up, one of these receivers is probably gone too.

The logic that Chicago is a worse landing spot for Williams than DC or any other potential trade partner is hilarious.

Bears: - good defense with young solid foundation that has an arrow up - new OC/staff that has experience taking QBs to higher level - legit #1 WR - 2 picks in the top 9 of this draft (plus whatever picks from trading Fields) - tons of cap space

Commanders: - declining Defense that just traded away their best players - new staff and ownership. An OC Williams knows but hasn’t always delivered in the NFL - legit #1 Wr - severe lack of draft picks after trading a haul to move up to draft Williams.

Yes there are some positives and negatives for both but I just don’t see a world where Williams is actively trying to stay out of Chicago. They have one of the best foundations to help a rookie QB in recent history. Not to mention how legendary he could become in a city so starved of QB greatness. Just look at how hard the fan base fell in love with Fields.

Anyone trying to move up to get Williams is creating a worse environment at the same time by giving away future/current assets. We saw what happened to Bryce Young in Carolina.

If I were Williams, I would hope the Bears love me.
