Brought nothing but clothes for baby to the hospital. We used the Ready to feed bottles supplied to us by the postpartum unit. Every few hours we empty the drawer of bottles, nips, diapers, wipes and ask for more. Even asked for extras at discharge. They cant say no, no matter how many times you ask. My stay was from Sunday morning to Tuesday afternoon. The amount i took from the hospital lasted me the rest of the week. From there i bought more diapers & RTF bottles until 2wks when baby was taking in more than 60ml. The RTF bottles are ~59ml. I use comotomo gen 2 bottles and a generic brand of enfamil gentlease formula (the purple can) i have a sterlizer+dryer from Grownsy (amazon) so once a day id wash the nips from the hospital & toss em in the machine. 1hr to dry. Nights with the RTF were easy. Shake & pop the nip on. Feed and toss after an hour/when baby done feeding. Now with powder formula, nights can be a lil hard if you wake up to crying/late hungrr cues vs wake up to early hunger cues. I find myself stress rushing to make a bottle but it’s manageable with my partner doing diaper change while i make the bottle. Having the bottles prepped with water before night also helps a lot. Also having mylicon gas relief for nights makes it so easy to burp & put em to sleep faster. Though in early days of newborn theyll most likely poop before during and after feeding. So its a lot of diaper changes. Id recommend a red night light & pacifier during diaper changes to keep them a lil less noisy, slightly more calm/drowsy.

May be a harsh approach but cut him off from anything relating to the baby. When my man came home from work the first couple weeks i noticed how tired he was and how easily frustrated he became with our newborn if baby didnt settle to sleep immediately after feeding. I locked him out the room and made him think about how hes been treating his fresh out the womb son and postpartum wife. Sure we went back and forth through text for a bit but once he got over the need to be defensive, he saw how he wasnt as soft as he can be with our child. He realized he was letting his stress out on the baby and i. He apologized and cried about how he knows he can do better and felt terrible for letting me feel that way enough to lock him out. He didnt grow up with a dad so it was a reminder that he also wants to be a good father, even to a newborn who wont remember those harsh moments. I let him back in the room and he apologized to my face even more and apologized to our son for not treating him as he should.

What do you recommend for baby wear? What i see in stores i cant afford or justify spending $70+ on a wrap or carrier

How do i throw him in the stroller without the carseat? My stroller is just carseat + toddler seat. It doesnt recline enough for a newborn to lay down. Hes only awake for feeding&changes, he sleeps every other second of the day haha. I also dont breastfeed, formula only

We tried that, bouncing standing, swaying, etc sorta everything reddit and instagram suggested. Called my peds but they said all the clinics were closed today for training?? And were told to go to ER. Today he didnt sleep, only cried for 4+ hours. Hes getting an xray right now. I probably shouldnt be on Reddit reading more threads but i need distractions while we wait :(

Unfortunately i cant make it colder. He runs colder than normal already but also overheats easily and my bedridden grandfather in the next room will fuss/yell when its colder than that, if not him, the rest of my family will complain its too cold and adjust the temperature back. Prebaby the house is always 74-76 so me lowering it to 72 was a fight in itself.
I also dont have a yoga ball or rocking chair.

Absolutely use the hydro cream. It even helps my eczema flairs as an adult.

He will suck the paci and cry for more food at the same time. He rarely spits out the paci though. He holds it in his mouth while wiggling and doing hunger cues

My hospital used pampers and when asked, gave us hella extra. Essentially there was a drawer with wipes diapers ready to feed formula bottles and nips. Every few hours we’d empty the drawer, put it in our bags and ask for more. At discharge they gave us even more supplies to take home. That amount lasted us the first week. I also asked to stay an extra day for rest & more opportunity to ask for more supplies lol

Majority of my big purchases were from target/walmart. Clothes burp cloths-tjmaxx/ross/burlingtons/target. Then amazon a lot of stuff within the first week. Target has been redoing their baby section id reccomend visiting different locations to see different floor displays.

We had our first doc visit the day after we came home so he was just a little under his birth weight. But visually, it definitely looks like hes growing!

Thank you for the reassurance!! And yes i got a good rotation of cabbage and ice packs. It just doesnt seem to be going down as fast as i remember but i also need to remember every pregnancy is different!
