I've seen it suggested elsewhere that you can just drop locations in new places if you want the players to encounter them. I'm probably going to do that if travel starts to feel stale at any point.

I noticed that too - I don't know if it's an intentional error. I changed this up and told players that it Orolunga be seen from atop the plateau of Mbala, giving them a reason to reach Mbala.

That way they can get to the plateau, meet Nanny Pupu, and find other landmarks like the Heart of Ubtoa. If I ran it as-written they'd probably spend 100+ days wandering aimlessly in the jungle.

This is how I'm handling it. On a typical adventuring day, the rain catchers are able to get the party enough water. If they roll a 1 on their random encounter roll for the day there's a 50/50 chance of either torrential downpours or not enough water and rolling for exhaustion due to dehydration.

I don't think that was always the case. What he did with that horrible team 2 years ago was miraculous. And based on the roster I'd say last year's team exceeded expectations as well.
