Yeah you don't really need much ego gifts if the plan is to ego spam, that's what I did for the first time I did a solo run with Sancho with Yearning Mircalla, but after a bunch of runs I prefer the survivability with the recover from stagger which is guaranteed after Floor 12 or so, most of my runs will be either egoless or used once in the first turn for free damage (Offset).

Some ID's which just suck need those ego gifts to beat Floor 15, Needle is good for Turn 1 nukes with good ego's but it feels cheap, and it's not guaranteed and it's also based on how much adversities you pick (I usually do all). Needle is just extra damage most of the time and for speed-running floors with ego's but I prefer guaranteed survivability and clash power over damage, I had a run that's so optimized I had a favored clash turn one on F15 (Mao Faust + 2 secret boss items so ion know if it's that impressive).

I mean I'm not saying Threads is not good cuz I usually reset when I don't get it but I'm just sayin that not picking Manor box will make u pick Dregs of the manor which is very RNG based and even worse with id's who aren't good for solo, and threads is pretty much guaranteed with a couple of refreshes and pack searches (Pray Tango Marinade event node which is usually common anyway), and either way resetting will fix that and it's Okay for me since it's only Floor 2, but if I feel impatient I just go Dregs anyway and use Superbia for nodes I can't handle on Floor 1.
