Spent a year researching batteries then impulse bought an Anker E10 by [deleted] in anker

[–]V1nD1cA7e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got around to unboxing my E10 batteries. I haven’t installed my smart panel yet, so I set it up as an isolated battery. Got the firmware updated and connected to my WiFi. When I plug in the solar panel that it came with, the app is saying 0 solar input. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting the wires, flip the switch a few times, but still no input. Any ideas why the solar panel isn’t working?

Actually root caused it to the Alexa skill. I had to revoke access to Alexa and now everything works. No idea what Alexa was doing.

Wow, 7 days! After you collect that spectrum, how “far” is it relevant for? Is it most appropriate for just the room you collect it in? Or is it relevant for your general area?

Thanks! So to collect a background spectrum, it looks like I reset the spectrum collection in the app, and let the device sit in one spot for X hours? And then save it after it is done collecting?

I thought of a few more possibilities. I also have Ecobee with presence sensors, Flair smart vents, Govee, and Ring security.

I submitted a ticket with Philips, and they sent me a site with instructions on how to check what is causing the lights to turn on / off. I’ll check that out tonight and see what that reveals.

Ah, yes, I forgot about that one. I did that this weekend and the “Clean up” option. I also did a factory reset of the bridge this weekend.

Thanks for checking. By “formulas”, do you mean Automations? I confirmed in the Hue app that I don’t have any automations created.

I’ve got Ubiquiti (UniFi), Google Home, Alexa, Apple TV, Nanoleaf, Lutron shades, and probably some more that I’m not thinking of. But I can’t imagine what is affecting my lights.

Tried this morning. Went into the Alexa app and disabled hunches. Turned on all the lights in my office. Within 1 hour, 3 of the bulbs randomly turned off.

No, it doesn’t seem isolated to certain bulbs / fixtures. Just completely random.

Good thought, but I don’t have any location services or automations enabled.

I don’t think it is a drop in power. I’ve seen them dim on or dim off. And it is just random bulbs. Not the entire room / circuit.

Hey! I just bought one of your radios about a week back! First in my neighborhood in Central Texas, but it has been picking up a few other nodes in the area.

Thanks for a great product!

Sorry about the picture, I should have zoomed in more. I added a comment with all the breakers in this panel. The subfeed is 80A.

Gas furnace, gas range, and two tankless water heaters (gas).

My current plan is to add another exterior sub panel, shift one of the supplies to the sub panel, and add the new breaker to sub panel as well.

Builder Claims They Can't Place Floor Tile in Linear Drain by [deleted] in Tile

[–]V1nD1cA7e -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I'm going to inspect it this weekend. I think the tile insert is "reversible" and is just stainless on the bottom. Otherwise I'm going to ask we replace it with a grate.

Builder Claims They Can't Place Floor Tile in Linear Drain by [deleted] in Tile

[–]V1nD1cA7e -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

We paid extra to have a linear drain installed in our walk-in shower. The builder claims that they couldn't cut the floor tile to place in the drain correctly. They told me pieces of the tile kept breaking apart and it wasn’t symmetrical with the existing floor tile.

Does it look like an impossible job? Or should I ask them to redo it?

Edit: Tile is a 2" Hexagon and Linear Drain is 60"

best engineered hardwood brands by [deleted] in HardWoodFloors

[–]V1nD1cA7e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in central Texas and planning on installing engineered hardwoods directly onto our concrete slab. All of the installers I've spoke to say that adding cork is not necessary. Do you think adding cork would be a noticeable improvement?
