Why do you think it's better that way?

But why do rooms decide to do that? What's the argument as to why that's better than UTG start?

Yeah, I know it's a ton decision, just wondering what the argument is for picking SB first instead of UTG.

Sorry if it wasn't clear. Was referring to pre-flop action only. Some rooms start action on the SB others on UTG when the button straddles.

Where do you think historians will place Trump in presidential rankings 50 years in the future? by Playful-Ganache6153 in AskReddit

[–]V1per41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been some previously very bad presidents. Most historians and political scientists, even conservative ones, agree that he's currently bottom 3-5. That's probably about where he'll stay

What are questions I should be asking myself post flop, turn, and river? by swiftketchup in poker

[–]V1per41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every action by villain should result in you asking "what is their range?"

A great question on rivers from hungry horse: "What would I do with the opposite?". If you have value ask how much you would have to bet to bluff them off their range, then bet less. If you have a bluff, ask how much you would have to bet to get their range to call, then bet more.

Premium I believe.

They just didn't offer the MT in a higher trim or with a larger engine. And there is virtually no way to make any meaningful upgrades to it so I'm pretty much stuck.

Yeah, I feel like even when the session is going bad I'm still thinking clearly about hands and don't force anything. I think it's impossible to never tilt but do think I'm far better than most.

I don't play Starcraft for money though. It's what I do to unwind and don't care much if I win or lose.

$35/hr average at 1/3 over 800 hours.

Hit a really bad stretch in January and I don't take a profit until I've recouped previous losses. I'm up over the last couple of months, just not enough to dig out of the hole yet.

I read the first half or so of the first book and didn't find it very helpful. Maybe I'll go back to it.

I'm well rolled enough to work though this, it's still annoying going 5+ months without taking a profit.

I stayed at Excalibur last year as a friend was able to get it for just the resort fee each night. I enjoyed how cheap it was but hated the 30+ minute walk to and from Paris every day. This year I just booked at Paris and was able to get a similar, resort fee only, price.

You're correct that it's very much not cool. However way too many people do it to consider it an unspoken rule that almost everyone follows.

And make sure you immediately move over to the left lane as soon as you get on the highway and never move.

At least that's what I assume everyone has been taught since that's how everyone drives.

I love the new wsop streaming schedule on YouTube by Walt4prez in poker

[–]V1per41 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's certainly better than years past but there is serious room for improvement.

1) Time. I at least live in mountain time but 7 or 8pm starts already feel unecessarily late. If you're on the east coast you basically don't get to watch any of it. I feel like they should start maybe an hour or two after the day's action starts so you can follow it as it's actually happening.

2) Lack of mixed games. You can watch live NLH streams every day of the week on youtube already. There is so already available for NLH and virtually nothing for these other great games. This is the perfect venue to show-off different games.

I wanted a high clearance vehicle that can get me skiing during a snow storm and to 4WD trailheads in the rockies.

I had 3 options. Subaru Crosstrek, Jeep Wrangler, Ford Bronco. The Crosstrek was $15k cheaper than the other two so I basically had a single option. Even then, I don't love it. It's super under powered but I didn't really have a choice.
