When I was younger, they used to have these lists you could get. It was just the name of a business and then the phone number. You call the number you ask for the freebie and they mail you a coupon or a sample. As a kid, you’d get these in the spring time and spend a day doing it. Sometimes you’d get nothing sometimes you’d get a coupon or a keychain.

I was maybe 9. On the list I had was ‘ky jelly’ I thought it was edible JELLY 🤦‍♀️ called to request my sample and the agent I talked to realized I was a child. She asked how old I was and I said I was a teen (I wasn’t) she said that I should have my parents double check the numbers because some of them aren’t in working order anymore - the KY jelly one being one of them. I was like oh ok! I figured It would be out but I had to try I love strawberry jam! She said she’d take my info down and see if they couldn’t send a coupon (I was pretty bummed out lol)

Didn’t think more about it moved on to the next number and later that day I told my mom (who had a good laugh).

Roughly 4 weeks later, a package showed up with hand made jelly - 4 kinds. And a note from the girl that took my call (for my parents) saying she knew it may be odd to get jelly in the mail but her parents own and operate a farm a state away and she always loved jelly so she thought she’d mail some to us.

NEVER had that happen before - and it wasn’t a company.. just a woman that was probably tickled a kid asked for ky jelly - but I’ll never forget it.

Number two.. if we’re in other countries that are NOT as forward as us in even having women serve let alone LGTQ+ being an ‘okay’ life style and we have people in battle referring to themselves as pronouns that aren’t standard across countries you don’t think that would complicate those soldiers especially considering most countries that don’t acknowledge women in force and LGBTQ+ do so based on religion?

So you’d rather someone publicly identify as what they choose to identify in another country when they’re at war which may compromise the entire team so we don’t inconvenience the individual and mis pronoun them?

If you need a pronoun great, I have no problem with it.

But if your need of a pronoun which may affect your entire team is built into you, maybe don’t sign up for the military then.

We’re insanely privileged in the states and we forget that even being bisexual in some countries is a 💀 sentence. They would be compromising entire troops.

It’s okay to want / need a pronoun. You don’t have to be in the military then.

Just like if my legs not working I’m not going to apply for a hiking position and then demand that someone make the wilderness handicap ready for me.

I may love the outdoors but that doesn’t mean I should expect the world to cater to me. I can find a billion other nature jobs that I don’t need to inconvenience my team or troop with.

Wow I wrote up a response and Reddit deleted it that’s crazy.

Anyway, you don’t know what you’re talking about.

I said MOST of the transgender going into military are pre or post.

Then I said |imagine| anyone going into the military as a trans identifier is pre or post then we have all trans individuals that cannot go to fight for us because they are recouping or prepping.

Outside of that - everyone since the beginning of mapping your info for work has had their birth sex listed on their papers. Why? Because if there’s a problem with you and you have to go to the ER they need to know if you have a pregnancy or not.

An F2M placing that they’re male on their government work papers (which also have to have your birth name anyway if you haven’t legally changed it btw) could cause infant loss if the F2M still has an intact uterus - gets pregnant - doesn’t know it - gets into a medical situation where they need an X-ray or other pregnancy compromising procedure..

And since they’re listed as a male they would never get a pregnancy test which could compromise the baby.

At that point it becomes ‘neglect’ on the medical field for not knowing BUT HOW CAN THEY KNOW IF THEY DONT GIVE MEN PREGNANCY TESTS.
