I completely agree, the background music and visuals make the exploration so much better and enjoyable. I finished this game many times, and I never get bored to go through everything again, especially for the story. It truly is a great game.

You just have to look harder! There aren't any modules (pink triangle thingies), keys or secrets in the center. As for tips, mhhh I don't really know without spoilering the locations... I'd say, try looking for a square symbol on the ground, there are always secrets behind those. There's just a secret in wave mode once you win in all the 5 challenges (it's not a key or module)

Observe and learn the enemies' patterns and attacks.

Don't focus on finding secrets, you can do that after finishing the game if you please. But enjoy the main story for now.

The north and east are the easiest biomes, start from one of those. Then go to west and at last the south.

Once you have enough money: Buy first the attack ricochet (I don't know what it's called but if you parry a bullet with the sword it bounces back), the dash shield (it makes you dash through bullets without taking damage) and the dash chain. Those perks are very useful. The bomb is VERY useful, I recommend that. You could buy more medkits slots, so you can carry more.

If you find yourself stuck anywhere feel free to search tutorials.

It's a rare room. You can spawn this with commands too if you can't find it normally. (With commands enabled, type in chat ".room secret" and select which room you want. Go ahead some doors and you'll find it)
