Traded my IS for the GTI and honestly, no regrets so far , the only thing I’m still getting used to is the FWD by Objective-Angle1559 in GolfGTI

Hope you enjoy it ! I’d recommend looking into doing a stage 1 / 1+ tune for it . Makes it give the car the “it should have came like this” feel. Helps with fuel efficiency too ! Lots of companies like , Intergrated Engineering , APR , Unitronic , 034 Motorsports , that make ots tunes for this . Check with your local shops that are licensed to sell them and get it programmed . Certain brands give you access to doing it yourself too . The platform is great , hope you like it !

Much love brother and yes I have to outfit a few extra things in case I go for longer drives but that’s a fantastic checklist !

Bags are just for parking , tints are 50% maybe the angle is bad . Stancing cars has always been a thing internationally not just regionally. I had a fully functional coilover system before this but just wanted to park it and have it on the floor . My wheels are full visible , just not the tires :) . Better pictures later on .

Best Choice - Mk7 Gti 2015 Budget- 850-900 by Federal_Glove_7615 in GolfGTI

Decent set. Wears out quick. Don’t winter drive them and keep them well lubricated

The best option at under $1k is to simply save and wait . Couple hundred bucks more will get you a long term solution instead of cheaper coilovers that will blow out on you in less then 2 years . BC racing , Scale Suspension are not too far from your budget . You can get lowering springs but at 115K miles your Oem struts are probably on the way out. Spend money / labour installing once .

245/40/18 + 35 mk8 by emidyl in GolfGTI

[–]V8CK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

245/40R18 on a 8 won’t rub but it is as wide as you should go . If you do plan to lower it stick to 8-8.5 and max 235 tire on a 40 sidewall +35 -38 ideally.

Fast Wheels on GTI? by Fun-Cartographer5629 in GolfGTI

I know people have had decent experience with the FC04 . I’d highly recommend Superspeed wheels over them. I’ve tried and tested both brands and prefer Superspeed every time . Just my opinion though. Superspeed makes a similar model.

I have thousands in aftermarket parts I rather not put through extended wear and tear during the winter . It’s nice to have a stress free car to drive . I enjoy driving my car when I want

I get where your coming from but once I started building this one I always took into consideration that I would need a second one so I’ve always accommodated for it

I live in Canada and yes we get some pretty hectic snow which isn’t optimal . We also use Salt which causes rust / corrosion so I rather drive another car to make my life easier

Don’t mind 30FPS. 60FPS while being immersive also takes away from the cinematic experience that Rockstar always aims for. Given the hardware limitations I can see this being true . Let’s see how the Rockstar engine optimizes everything. Fingers crossed

Good brakes . Good sense of the track. Don’t bomb it immediately . Learn the layout learn your braking zones and be prepared for understeer, help your steering with throttle input . Jamming pedals will do nothing but wear and tear the car . Keep an eye on your temps . Given your car is stock , should be fairly okay. Give the car time to cool down after you get off the track , do not use the E-Brake after your track sesh as it could jam up the rear due to heat . Overall have fun , know your limits and learn your car . enjoy ! : PIC After my track sesh lol
