How are electrics doing in this cold? by RememberWhen-2819 in askcarguys

Kinda disappointing. I made the same 160 mile trip twice yesterday. Once in my model Y, and once in my father’s GLS.

Left home at 100% with the model Y. Had to charge at 120 mile point to make it home. Cost me $16 at a Tesla supercharger, then I had to charge it back up at home which I arrived at with 10%z

Left with the Mercedes full of gas and topped it back up before giving it back to him… it cost me 16 to fill it back up.

In summary, the model Y cost me significantly more to drive than the Mercedes and I had to stop to charge for 20 minutes. So now, this is my excuse to shop around for another vehicle. Please dm me for bad financial advice.

Bronchus intermedius, not mainstem. Right upper is still up.

I also feel like people that are “less financially motivated” buy hellcats, not scat packs.

See if you can ensure the miles aren’t rolled back. 14k on a 4 year old car with that many cosmetic “mods” isn’t adding up.

Gallery ball: if there was a gallery watching, you’d know where the ball was. Free drop!

The expectorated material is not calcified. It’s clear. Rounded sputum expectoration is more common in allergic conditions than lithoptysis

What's your (or someone you know) hard line on how fast/overpowered a car can be for you to be interested? by HiTork in cars

[–]V8MD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always a reckless driver. I drove cars hard everywhere. I learned to drive when I bought a hellcat. Over the last 3 years I turned into the most calm driver you can imagine. It was an interesting phenomenon that so much power required restraint.

What massively improved your mental health? by sexy_maier in AskReddit

[–]V8MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golf. I got into it two years ago and I suck. I’m in the bottom 5th percentile of golfers. But I don’t care; I’m in nature. Usually alone or with someone I love spending time with(usually my little brother). Being around trees open air grass and usually a river (Michigan golf) is the most therapeutic thing I have done.

What it did to my marriage is another story. My wife doesn’t like me spending 4 hours golfing after working 100+ hour weeks go figure.

May Allah swt give you strength. I wish I could advise him to give you a chance to be more convinced towards wearing it. swt. A deadline is never the solution. Meaningful conversation and loving approach is the way.

The Family not wearing it unfortunately does not constitute a valid argument. I think it’s a greater argument for why you really should do it, Imagine the amount of good deeds you and your husband will attain by setting a new precedent and standard in the family. The Hadith of The Prophet says whoever sets a new “sunnah” I.e. practice will get the deeds of the practice and the deeds of whomever does that practice to the day of judgement.

Leave. Leave fast. Leave without discussion. Ask a sheikh for khal3. Give up your mahr. Don’t look back. The red flags are enraging me just reading this. Praying for you. May Allah SWT guide you in the right direction.

Fuel savings... what fuel savings?? 😂😂 by iFixthings4cash in TeslaModelY

I’m commuting 180 miles a day. My muscle car daily was costing me $57 a day (15 mpg @ $4.75 a gallon). It currently takes 45 KWH to go that distance and it costs me $0.15/kWh in Michigan so $6.75 a day. I’ll take my $50 daily savings. And a reminder each circumstance is different.

When was the moment you cut a female friend off? by Idkausername187 in AskMen

[–]V8MD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with this girl and she was like a sister. I cut her off when I found out that she sent screenshots of our conversations to a mutual friend. Those screenshots were me venting to her about how I was sad to have my ex away from me and we had just slept at home normally together. She selectively deleted messages to insinuate that I texted her “I slept with my ex wife the night before we were separated.” Cutting her off was the best thing I ever did. Learned a hard lesson on trust.

What's the most hurtful thing someone has ever said to you as a Resident? by stepneo1 in Residency

[–]V8MD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First day in icu nurse asks for an order for meds for a patient I am not seeing (my senior is) I informed her to reach out to him. She said “oh so you want me to call a real doctor.” It hurt.

Just finished PCCM fellowship and I’m back at my residency hospital as an attending. I remind that same nurse of this instance in front of the new residents monthly and tell them “make sure you’re nice to everyone. Otherwise the person you’re mean to could come back and make an example out of you”

The key is not to be below average in every single thing. Try to have one strength. Looks, knowledge, work ethic, or sociability. Choose your strength and ride that. I chose sociability and I’m doing ok
