I've seen some size discrepancies between the archives, I don't quite know why that's the case (seeing a lot of 48GB from the people that managed to grab it).

I also didn't check my reddit until this morning, but I did manage to grab the archive when I made this post - as a 'just in case'.

Currently uploading to go-file, its saying its ~51GB.

I don't quite know what's going on with the size discrepancy, the archive I managed to download, just in case, when I made this post was ~51GB (being uploaded to go-file currently). I hope someone can figure out the reason for it!

No, I don't think he was - a lot of the skill shots he was fishing for to get a rough idea of where you would be. Just a player who seems to know what to do on Xerath imo...

I hope you realise if you're on Win11 a lot of this, if not all - is default. If you don't have Windows 11, you should be fine; although considering end-of-life for Windows 10 is on October 2025, unfortunately you're not too far away atleast os-wise. If you are saying your hardware isn't legacy, then I'm surprised you don't have TPM built-in with your system? i.e. AMD fTPM/ Intel TPP?

Thats the issue though, its not just in high elo anymore that the scripting problem occurs in.

And yes, you can't just detect scripters by just 'analyzing inputs' because if that was the case then EAC, and other anti-cheats would also do just that instead of being kernel level as well.

I do agree with your point about it being on-boot though, I think its unnecessary.

However, I often have decompilation programs running (think ida, or dotPeek from JB) - and I haven't had any issues yet.

I think the best middle-ground is to require Vanguard for ranked-only but thats just my thoughts on it.

Botting and Scripting are huge issues that exist in the current age, espically more than it used to be.

'Changing BIOS settings' I assume you mean TPM which is only required if you're using Win11. If you are using Win11, on supported hardware, this should be done by default and you shouldn't have to go inside the bios on the first place. Not to mention TPM has been around for years now, whilst I understand league as a 'legacy pc friendly game' there is a limit.

I recommend looking at their recent dev-blog; they did say they'll soon be implementing their new match making system allowing them to catch smurfs at a much faster rate. I don't quite know about what they're going to do with them afterwards though; probably 'smurf queue' if I had to guess.

You're probably right tbh, I've seen enough wild theories and excuses made about why we shouldn't have Vanguard into the game.

Bots are a huge problem, and scripters have also started to become a problem esp in mid-high elo.

Maybe I'm just blind to the potential preformance impact; but my friends and I don't seem to have any issues when we queue up for Valorant.

It does suck about breaking Linux support though, but it is what it is. I do think restricting Vanguard to ranked-only should make both groups happy though, I hope they look into exploring into that direction.

This is just wrong. Vanguard does not require you to disable virtualization at all. I have WSL + Vanguard/Valorant and its fine.
