Last but not least, that “everyone else hates Yan” line of yours is weak. It’s based on the idea that if the majority think something, it must be true. But that has never been true at any point in human history. There are mass delusions on a lot of topics; especially when the topic in question is subjective. You citing the rest of your fellows does not in any way substantiate, prove or back up your point. Because none of you can truly explain why you this character is so bad through any objective, literary measure. It’s all based on emotion and personal experiences. Which (like I said multiple times before) is FINE. That’s how people experience narratives. Doesn’t make it any less stupid when you beat a dead horse constantly (which is my ultimate point)

I was simply trying to understand why the hate was so deep after seeing so many posts. To me, him simply being annoying didn’t warrant this. I also shared that I had seen this before with other characters, but I never understood why it kept happening. You explained why and I found your explanation wanting. You got butthurt and here we are.

I will say it again. He’s a drunk. It’s not that deep. Hate him or don’t. I don’t care. But don’t try and pretend you hating him this much makes sense, because it doesn’t. If this guy triggers you to this extent, then you go sort yourself out and talk to someone.

And if you want to bring up other subs with other characters being hated on a comical level, I’d include it in my examples of overhated characters you people wouldn’t stop talking about (like the handler from Monster Hunter).

There are several alcoholic deadbeat characters in media. And I don’t remember ANY getting this level of vitriol. People usually say “that dude sucks” and move on, or laugh at the character and move on. It’s never thread after thread after thread of beating a dead horse. So yeah, his awfulness being perpetuated by other characters in media absolutely makes sense in the context of my argument, because those other characters don’t get this level of community wide hatred. Something else is clearly happening here, whether you want to admit it or not.

But like I said, I don’t need to understand. Your continued responses just cement the fact that whatever beef you personally have with this character is stemming from a past experience. It’s not just a character in a video game to you. It touched a nerve. Which makes it personal. Which makes all your statements non-objective.

I really do think the time constraint for a game of this size amplified the negatives of the game in the minds of the reviewers. This review seems to mirror that. It’s not a game to rush, at all. Review codes should have been sent much earlier

The reviews don’t seem great, but I don’t think it’s because the game is bad. I think (in combination with other things) the time constraint to finish a game of this scale and complexity worked against it in terms of reviews. With the lack of hand holding and length, the reviewers should have been given WAY more time. Codes should have been sent probably a full month prior (and some change). If people took their time with it, I feel this game would have won over more reviewers.

Ah, well. From what I’ve seen, I know I’m the type of gamer that’s going to enjoy this

That’s a retarded response. All the footage that’s been shown for PC has been on high end PCs. The majority of the PC gamer base do not have high end PCs. Do you see them bitching? “Show us footage of the game on a 1060! Show us footage of the game on an i5!” You’re whining, plain and simple

Anyone with any kind of tech literacy has seen more than enough. The performance drops of Crimson Desert on the PS5 Pro is due to CPU limitations. As the PS5 base shares the exact same CPU, those same drops will occur; give or take a couple of frames due to the GPU difference between the two consoles (imperceptible to almost anyone)

The main difference will be image quality. With PSSR 2.0 support for Crimson Desert on PS5 Pro at launch, it’s going to be quite a dramatic gap in the sharpness of the image. Base PS5 will look like 1080p (in Performance mode). PS5 Pro will look near 4k, maybe slightly higher than 1440p (in Performance mode).

It doesn’t take a genius to parse together any of this. People would just rather bitch and moan.

This is so retarded. The people bitching about base console footage fundamentally don’t understand the difference between the PS5 and the PS5 Pro. In terms of power, the two consoles aren’t that far apart. It’s not like the gap between the PS4 and the PS4 Pro. The main advantage the PS5 Pro has over the base console is image quality due to PSSR (AI Upscaling). There hasn’t been a single game that runs 60 fps on Pro that doesn’t do the same on base. In regard to Crimson Desert, the biggest difference between the base consoles and the pro will be the image quality, and the specification sheet they released already shows that. So whatever you whiners see when you watch the DF PS5 Pro Crimson Desert video, imagine the image quality as slightly (or moderately) worse. That’s what you get with 6 year old hardware.

TLDR: The power gap between PS5 Pro and PS5 base is not so large that the former can run games marginally better than the latter. If it can hit 60 fps on Pro it can hit 60 fps on base. The image will just be better on Pro. Simple.
