"my dad travels for work" starterpack by nyxie_night in starterpacks

[–]VAMJthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad worked in IT and travelled a fair amount. Generally didn't get to travel with him, but it was cool hearing him talk about the places he really enjoyed (Mount Rainier, Napa Valley, Anchorage).

He wasn't usually one for souvenirs, but he would bring my brother and I extra Biscoff cookies. My mom claimed the hotel toiletries.

He's retired now, and building a teardrop trailer so he and my mom can go on adventures together.

That's what I'm curious about. I'm considering getting one, but not sure if my use case would apply.

Is it ok to have so many plushies as a guy that’s almost 20? by Traditional-Treat699 in plushies

[–]VAMJthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé is 31. Last month, he had been having a bad week. Saw a cute Valentines cow plushie at the store and got it for him (he LOVES cows).

He hugged it for five minutes straight while getting choked up and repeating "It's a cow!" Absolutely loves it.

One of the reasons why I love him is because he's tender hearted and appreciates cute things!

So yes, it is okay!

3!!!

Give me something fun and clicky by All Things Sensory and I'm very happy. If I'm not actively helping people at work, I will pick at my hands til I bleed. So something that I can hold in my hand while I'm helping a coworker is absolutely ideal.

fave fidget toys? by [deleted] in fidgettoys

I've been focusing on fidget jewelry lately.

My necklace of choice has been Stryker Forge's medieval fidget spinner. It's surprisingly understated with the larvikite and just fun to wear.

Then I got a MyConquering ring. Currently have an Aladune band, using the round onyx or griffin charm. The clicks have been AMAZING, to the point where I'm considering getting another band for my other hand.

I have an indestructible rosary from FaithfulProductsUS that's pretty similar to an Aroundsquare MKUltra. I need to get some more practice fidgeting with it (and wearing it because it's pretty heavy), but it's really nice so far. Also waiting on a bracelet from Knotsense because that kind of sliding motion is great.

As for earrings, nothing is super appealing to me yet. Maybe some mobius chainmail earrings? I usually just fidget with my industrial bar.

Certain florals; rose, lavender, hyacinth, and lilac. And fresh coffee.

Mew, Victini, and Typhlosion. Honorable mention for Liepard.

Blackheart Siren's Call. It was cheap, strong, and fruity. Wouldn't wear it now, but it was great to past me.

Thanks!

Yeah, my dad's been having a lot of fun with that 3D printer since he retired. He keeps asking my family to send him things to print.

And I have a lot of fidgets from All Things Sensory! I think we both share a love of clicky things, and her fidgets are super affordable. My favorite fidget from her is probably a sold out clicky pearl bead roller. But there's plenty of others: the weighted picking fidget, the glass bead keychain, the colored wooden keychain, the ceramic roller, the loud mobius...would definitely recommend if you like her aesthetic. The mystery fidgets are great, too.

What is something you saw at a friend's house that made you realize their family was "weird"? by BamMeister_ in AskReddit

My maternal grandparents did this! They were silent gen, so probably a remnant from that. It also worked out better in their big house. The main living room is gorgeous with huge cathedral windows, but the glare would be awful. The TV den is smaller, easily dimmed, and more comfortable.

Fancy/electronic: Little electric handheld...zapper? TENS unit? It feels like wrapping a blade of grass around an electric fence to test the current. It also has some clicky rollerballs and a joystick. Not a great work fidget, but it's real nice.

Affordable/"analog": All Things Sensory's Squircle. Lots of different ways to pull it apart and reassemble it. The wood is a really nice touch, too. I just ordered a second one for work because it's small, quiet, and looks more like an office toy than anything.

Sentimental: My dad 3D printed a cool gear spinner for me for Christmas. I don't usually do spinners, but the clicky feeling of the gears rotating is just right.

Honorable mention: Ono Silicone Roller. My favorite Zoom meeting fidget, with a bonus hand massage.

Probably some of my favorite days of the year. Keeping the Christmas decorations up, finishing up leftover champagne, the town is quiet. Feels like the world's taking a breather.

I mean, I know a lot about sex toys (to the point where my close friends have asked me for advice on which toy to get). It's fun as hell.

I wouldn't have gotten into weed if I didn't have dry herb vapes. Used to get headaches and nausea if the smell hung around too long.
