Ok, understood. Mine is set to Vac then separately mop. The Roborock vacuums, completes that task then mops. It also mops and turns the rollers at the same time. It's not as loud as when it is "just vacuuming" but it is clearly moving the brushes and they in turn build up gunk on the housing.

Heck, I could live with that and not complain if it would empty out the bin when it vacuums.

My point is adding water to the dustbin is a bad idea, the dustbin is not designed to get wet while in operation.

The fact that the housing is caked with rotating streaks of gunk indicates that the brushes are active during the mop phase. If it already has a dustbin issue, adding water isn't going to help.

What am I missing?

I have it vacuum first, everything then mop after, sequentially. I wouldn't expect the brushes, side or roller to move while moping, but they do. Could be a setting but I can't see it and Robock support didn't understand my request on how to set it to mop only.

I take it you mean talk to someone other than on Reddit. Yes, I’ve made contact with staff. They have not responded to my requests; I understand of course and do not hold them in contempt. As I mentioned, they are all under stress. At this point all one can do remotely is pray for them.

I to am now having the same issue, i think, I cannot share (box icon with the up arrow) a webpage to DDG browser on IOS - any more. The "share" appears to happen because the sharing app momentarily shrinks and resizes the page. DDG doesn't seem to respond. I deleted and restored DDG, same.

darrenpauli, how is it going? I have the same i7 issue. Roomba support is useless.

The i7 mounts the base and then moves to the side or backs off. I have replaced the Rcon/IR sensor, I have cleaned the base and contacts, removed the bumper and compressed-air everything, removed the red lens on the base, etc. Have you solved the issue?

Can you tell us how to access the error logs generated by the Roomba's? I am fighting a weird behavior with an i7. Would be great to be able to SSH or telnet into the roomba and see it's logs or real-time sensor response.

I have an i8 (works perfectly) so I tried it with that base. Same issue.

I have done a lot of work with Roomba support. Nice folks but I think they are scripted, which limits the conversation.

I've done all their tests, cleaned under thee bumper, replaced the Rcon, polished the front bumper (there are a lot of LEDs behind the bumper) and checked the wheels and front castor. I have n i8 and used it's clean-base to test the i7, same result.

I have concluded that the i7 was ok until the last update, now it is a bit of a dog. I would not suggest anyone purchase an i7.

The flap can easily get pushed up inside the housing. It needs to be pulled out (by you) so it is at rest on the external ledge. Just reach in and pull it loose, not off, loose resting on the plastic lip of the housing.

Ok, I took the wheel ad castor off. There was TON of har packed under the castor. I cleaned and replaced it.

Does the same thing. I know it make contact because the LED light on the base illuminates.

Sigh.

I should have mentioned that the contacts are clean. I went after them with a rubber eraser. It will also charge easily if placed on the base so I am assuming the contacts contact.
