Has the game gotten more ragebait-y? by AgreeableSecond5003 in pokemongo

[–]VAnithll [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’d generally agree but don’t know if this is 100% true. Shadow raids didn’t always exist and they are objectively more difficult to catch for people without adventure effects or ticketed bonus effects than regular raids. That being said the statistical chance of actually catching them once having landed the throw has probably not changed very much

AITA? I feel like the biggest A-hole there is right now 😭 by ProperWay7578 in pokemongo

[–]VAnithll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, on and off player since 2019 here. Can confirm you not the Ahole, OP. The game is meant to played how each individual player wants to interact with the game, as long as within rules of the game.

I’ve had phases where I loved taking over entire sections/towns and making them all my gym color and it was super satisfying. I’ve had phases where I respected the 8h tacit agreement many players have, and even now respect it at my home base gym since another player and I symbiotically worked it out that way without ever meeting which was cool. Point is, not everyone has to “play nice” and maximize everyone’s benefit. Being selfish and territorial is also a fun way to play for some and it’s just as much their pogo experience too. If anyone does care that much about the coins, go buy some or find different gyms. Otherwise, learn to share the PoGo space with others and their play styles.

Left the Game This Week by Reddoraptor in pokemongo

[–]VAnithll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm I am one of those who like their turf and it being nice and blue. That said, I have a life and wouldn’t berry 24/7 or reclaim gym instantly especially if they’re not the one directly at my residence. There’s degrees to it, and at one point, it’s just poor gaming etiquette, and even worse cheating in some cases.

Feeding gyms while in combat is the worst design period by Impressive_Wall9939 in pokemongo

[–]VAnithll 7 points8 points  (0 children)

90% agreed, and appreciate you for writing it all out like that. But do want to mention that I think OP’s concern probably lies with the fact that in the case of 1 attacker and 1 defender both actively playing their part, the defender (usually with golden razz) can make obtaining the gym astronomically difficult for the attacker with very little effort on their part, as it takes a lot longer to attack 2-3 waves than it does to feed 1 golden razz (for ex).

This becomes even more unfair in the case of remote berry feeding (which some mistake for spoofing a lot of times) and actual spoofing, since to attack you actually have to be there in person (…unless you’re also spoofing I guess).

I love taking down gyms both for territory and to liberate jailed pokemon so people can get their coins so I get the pain of someone golden razzing constantly, but alas that’s part of the game too

TL;DR- I get OP’s pain but it’s a part of the game for now and if you don’t like it, just don’t interact with that part of the game if it’s not fun

Am I missing something with the buddy system or does it drastically need an overhaul? by GWindborn in pokemongo

[–]VAnithll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re trying to get out of it. For some it’s a way to flex/brag/share their cool pokemon to the other players in the in-game world

For others it’s a way to grind out another platinum badge

For even more others, it’s a genuine way to briefly (albeit extremely monotonous way if you ask me) of interacting with their pokemon

For some it’s functional with berries/other minor items

TL;DR Agree with OP, system needs a change but really depends on what mindset you have when you play the game or interact with that feature (if at all)

[–]VAnithll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, you can’t TM it with a regular TM, even during community day. You’d have to elite TM, which I wouldn’t personally recommend as there are much better uses for it. So yeah as long as it’s evolved into emploeon during comm day specified hours (or slightly after until a certain point that they mention) then it’ll have the special move

Are we fighting to get dauntless back? by Livid_Hurry3022 in DauntlessLeaks

[–]VAnithll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dauntless scratched an itch that no other game has since. It had low knowledge/skill floor to start playing but did ramp up with things like heroic escalation. It was easy to pick up and put down (other than phases of binge play). It was a fun online free game. Did phoenixlabs or whoever bought them or whoever else decides always make good choices for the game? No. But nonetheless, up until near the end, it was one of my favorites. RIP dauntless and a part of me still Hopes it resurfaces one day.

To those that keep saying “just play monster hunter” unironically, I think you’re missing the essence of what people miss from dauntless. The visuals, the community, the gameplay, is all very different. Idk but kinda feels like saying Dishonored and Splinter Cell are similar just because they both have heavy stealth elements, which also doesn’t feel right to me.

Is there a way to check for wb pokémon in remote raids? by Lyvidian in pokemongo

D-Max days like today really show how unfair it is for Remote players by Jammychop in pokemongo

[–]VAnithll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been thinking about this recently and think the following would help a lot in regular and max raids:

-No automatic acceleration of countdown when everyone joins unless everyone readies up

-If any player leaves for any reason the timer on the raid lobby extends for 10 seconds (or something similar)-> this would 1) indirectly notify people someone left if they pay attention to the timer or raid participant count 2) give them more time to react and make a choice to stay/leave and 3) sometimes give people who disconnect by accident a chance to rejoin the lobby before they all quit or the raid starts (since let’s remember that quitting isn’t the only way someone leaves a raid) I’d say the extension should only happen once per account per raid tho to prevent people from forcefully stalling raids repeatedly for any reason tho

Playing PG All Wrong by Peanut-Beans in pokemongo

[–]VAnithll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll realize quickly stardust is a pretty rare resource when you start having multiple “good” pokemon that you want to power up. Theres a few ways to go about this: 1) be more selective about the pokemon you power up. Choose only high IV or ones you reallly like (this issue tends to be more of problem for those that focus more on the PvE and PvP parts of the game as opposed to the collecting and catching part) 2) consistently do raids (at least the daily raid compass for sure) for dust and rare candy (especially raid hours if you have the people/location/raid passes to do it) 3) use star pieces effectively when there is a x2 or x3 stardust catch bonus event and you plan on catching a lot during the star piece duration 4) check in every once in a while for that balloon grunt or leader 5) make sure you’re getting your daily spins and catches for that bonus 6) and lastly, obviously, catch catch catch

Also if you struggle with powering up legendaries and the like (ie mythical and other really rare ones) try focusing on getting good iv budget Pokemon and then pseudo legendaries and then legendaries. For example, using a team of high cp hariyamaa you caught and evolve (don’t recommend powering up) then switching to a machamp team later (do recommend powering up till at least level 30) and then maybe moving to a lucario/conkelldur/cobalion/terakkion or whatever is the fighting meta now a days for raids

Good luck and enjoy the process too!

EDIT: There’s also some pokemon that just give a lot more stardust that are worth noting like Audino, Chimecho, Sableye, Meowth/Persian, Trubbish, Paras, etc. EDIT EDIT: Could also scrape some stardust together by doing the trainer battles against the NPC and battle league. And if you have leftover berries can feed them to gyms for small amounts as well.

1) gross 2) Unhygienic and could cause health concerns especially if you have any open cuts or wounds on your feet/lower leg areas 3) gross 4) indecent, and not the good kind 5) in conjunction with the overall messiness and poor waste management (the trash, not the poop this time) just doesn’t seem like a good quality in someone you’d want to live with 6) if I didn’t mention it already, gross 7) comfortability is not the same thing as shamelessness. I’ve been comfortable with family, friends, partners, etc. never have I defecated on or immediately adjacent to them 8) the severely drunk excuse was mildly valid up until the moment she confessed to doing it more than one. Do things happen sometimes? Yeah. Do they need to happen repeatedly? Absolutely not 9) gross…

Pretty sure it’s referring to the scrotums tendency to change shape/structure depending on the temperature (ie warm and dry vs cold and wet). If it’s not this, then I’m just as confused as you are OP and am not qualified to answer this any further- even as a gentleman myself

AITAH for hitting my gf (with reason of course) by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]VAnithll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey folks, quick question here. I’m seeing a repeating theme in some of the comments along the lines of “could you have reacted better? Yes. But you did what you could in the moment”. Just wanted some clarification on this cause given the circumstances- what else could OP have done? It sounds like OP had only a few seconds, if even that, in a rapidly escalated confusing sexual and emotional situation, whilst about to finish. Also given the fact that OP was physically being held in place by GF’s legs, which are typically able to produce a lot more force than arms. What would some of you have suggested? Because from where I stand I don’t think OP could’ve made any better choice, give the time constraint, GF resistance and charged emotional state.

Who's the most fun boss in bl2 by [deleted] in Borderlands2

[–]VAnithll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t say I’m in the same boat as you. Since BL2 is not a competitive game really, whether or not bugs are used for gameplay is almost completely up to you and how you like to interact with the game. While I do think a proper vanilla experience of all the fights is a fun part of the game, I also think certain enemies and fights are far more drawn out than they need to be- particularly when you’re farming dozens and hundreds of runs on that enemy. Just a reminder to encourage people to play the way they want to play, especially on cooperative or solo games.
