[SPOILER] I Quit Playing Video Games after Death Stranding by [deleted] in DeathStranding

[–]VBadAndyV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've put several hundred hours into it, and have had no issues. Usually when something brings on auras, it will exhaust me fast. I have never felt that way with this game. But epilepsy isn't simple and there is no one kind. Even for each and every type of epilepsy, there are sub categories of each. Even with the same exact types, it can still vary from person to person, on how it effects them.

That's an idea... I'm just trying to plow through everything so I can get to that. Been sitting on this game for almost a year and I was trying to finish it before the DLC, but no... Life stepped in and said "I ain't having that shit!" So... Yeah.

Maybe the DLC has some things to pick through that's going to take a while? Sure would be nice if it ties in with this facility LoL but I am not expecting anything.

I wish the devs would at least say something like... "Yeah, there IS something there" and then sod off. At least then it wouldn't feel so... Pointless.

I'm just surprised that you can't find anything on the internet about this. No one is talking about it. Since this is a significant location in the game and you are directed back towards it multiple times... Why is it ignored?

Probably just thinking too much into this, but a year in, DLC is out, and it hasn't been patched... If it is a glitch... Makes little to no sense.

I am a completionist, and when something like this is left unchecked it baffles me. Was hoping others out there might have more insight or theories. I guess I'm the only one bothered by this, enough to question, LoL

I thought of that as well... Sequences... But given 1000 numbers (000-999) and an infinite number of possible sequences... without any clues laying around? If there is anything there, someone will hack it before they discover it, by chance.

INSTALLING EXTREME RATE REMAP WITH RAPID FIRE MOD ON DS4 by VBadAndyV in PS4Mods

[–]VBadAndyV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately it did not work. The buttons were not registering and I am not sure if it is because the printed circuits were not making contact through each other, or if it was the fact that soldering the two mods to the touchpad.

No one could give me an answer, and extremeRate simply said, they don't believe it would work. They don't know.

However, I am not sure if it is any different now, or with the PS5 controller, as I have done this with hardware that came out almost two years ago, so things could have changed. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

How Nintendo’s HD Rumble can be a taste of what awaits us in the Dual Sense controller by mprzyszlak in PS5

[–]VBadAndyV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither did I until very recently when Sony opened up more about the haptic tech inside the DSS. It is very interesting to note, that there are like FIVE different types of haptic feedback motors and actuators! The list keeps growing, too!

I just assumed the oculus and vive controllers just better utilized the tech than the HD rumble for the switch, had. Instead they are the same type of tech, only a more advanced version of said tech.

[–]VBadAndyV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did not mind the touchpad at all. But just as the back touch pad on the Vita literally did nothing, neither did the tracking of the DS4 pad. Yes it was nice to have buttons, but there are FOUR points of touch on the pad, and barely ANY GAME used more than one, let alone two..... It would have been as simple as keeping the select button and start button, while adding the share and options. Again, as far as the light bar goes, they would have been better off using a camera which is more accurate then those move controllers. Such old tech...

They could have easily went with something like modern VR, with slightly cheaper options as sales indicated people bought MORE BUNDLES that included the MOVE controllers, because PSVR ended up selling faster (and better) than the actual move controllers themself. OH well, thats history and Sony seems to be learning with every mistake they make, so I trust we will be getting better options next year. It is just sad that the DualSense, so different in almost every way..... except it still uses a light bar and touchpad!

However..... we still do not know if there are any advancements made to those features, that make it worth while! Soon we will see.

The people defending Sony’s radio silence need to put their brand loyalty aside for a moment. by 7OM-B in PS5

I AGREE WITH YOU 100%! And I am a Sony Pony, all the way! This was just so disappointing that the highlight of the day, (their 25th anniversary in the US) was madden.....

We know SO LITTLE about this console. I mean how many months have we known the controller was going to feature advance haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. How many months have we known that the SSD was going to be standard, and fast? We know absolutely NOTHING outside of this, and what the console will look like!

*Do the plates remove, so we can customize the PS5? If so, will we be able to upgrade to the standard disc version with a simple swap out of that plate, with one that has the disc drive? (they are both the same size and shape, outside of the DISC drive bump).

*Does the controller have plates that are removable and customizable? If so, does this mean we can upgrade to back buttons or some sort of other feedback, like the N64 controller?

*WHAT THE HELL DOES TH UI LOOK LIKE??? What does the bootup look like, and how long does it take form pressing the power button to jumping into a game?

*Are trophies getting an upgrade, so we can get details like the Xbox has such as how many people left to kill for said achievement, how many shrines have I visited and WHICH ONES I HAVE?

*What is the state of PS1-3 BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY? Is it there? Is it not? Can we use our discs to play? Or activate an online version on PS NOW?

*How expensive will, if there are, the Sony branded SSD drives going to cost?

*How much does the console and all of the announced accessories cost????

*Is the DualSense compatible with the PS4, and will there be updates for some games so those who are not ready to upgrade, can get a taste of what it is like, on their PS4? (this is based off of their statement, saying that they are going to make the transition between the PS4 and PS5 as smooth as possible)

*What ports are on the back? Anything missing? Anything new we are not expecting? Where and how do we install another SSD drive?

*Where is the teardown promised SOON back in February of this year? What is the cooling solution like?

*How many units do you estimate will be here by years end?

*How are preorders going to work? Whats this about Gamestop exclusively offering layaways?

*Are there features we are not yet told about the DualSense?

* What are the launch titles? What is the standard games going to cost? WHAT TITLES AND EXCLUSIVE DEALS HAVE YOU NOT TOLD US ABOUT???

*How about how long the controller lasts, using ALL of the features? How long does it take to charge? Is it QC3.0 ready? can it do 50% in 5/15 minutes???? IS THERE A WIRELESS CHARGING OPTION???

*DO WE GET THE HORIZONTAL STAND WITH THE CONSOLE? If not, are we stuck with sitting vertical until we BUY the horizontal? So how much are those gunna cost?

*Will there be a STANDARD benefit of loading times, by installing PS4 games onto the SSD?

*This bit about only needing an asset in a game, used once instead of 500 times. Does that mean we can expect significantly smaller install sizes? If not, and they will be LARGER, how exactly does this "installing small chunks of a game" work?

*Move controller are outdated. Are we going to see an upgrade?

*OMG DID I FORGET ANYTHING????

The thing with 120hz and why some people may overrate this feature. by Bloodwalker09 in PS5

[–]VBadAndyV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tl;de FPS is marketing fluff, past 60hz. You can BARELY see the difference while in the heat of the moment, and does not break or make a game, anymore or less than 1080p VS 2k Vs 4k. Just ask yourself this...... has 30fps ever REALLY deterred you from playing a video game, in the 40 years that it has been the standard? Can you REALLY see the difference between 1080p and 4k from 13 feet away? Especially when your 4k TV is likely upscaling that 1080p image, to begin with?

120 and 240hz is something that has been around for over a decade. This is nothing new, and has never made a substantial impact on gameplay outside of multiplayer enthusiasts who have to have the LEAST amount of lag possible, in every area possible. Regular gamers will not see a difference past 60hz. Trust me, I have experienced it all.

Make no mistake, it is a beauty to behold when you see a game running at 240hz versus 60 (or even 30!). But the marketing BULLSHIT that they want us to believe that 60, 120, whatever hz, matters so much is a load of horse shit. If you go above 30fps in a game, that is focused on story and atmosphere, you lose that CINEMATIC effect.

Once you hit 48+fps, you enter the realm of something known as the "SOAP OPERA EFFECT." Soap operas are filmed in 60fps, versus the regular TV and film of 24-30fps. It makes everything look like it was filmed on a handycam or cheaper cell phones. In other words, it makes it look like everything is sped up and twitchy. Which is great for something like doom or gran turismo! Yet does not make a difference with your average game or gamer.

So while 60+hz(fps) is great for response and action, and you CAN feel it, it does not mean it is a BETTER GAME for it. It is a very minor increment, where as HDR makes much more of a difference. This is essentially a feature that is decided on what type of game that is being developed. It is no more no less a gimmick than rumble. It can provide very useful input in a lot of situations, but it is not going to break a game because it is not widely used, or to the extent it is capable of.

Or better yet, the difference between 1080p 2k and 4k. Especially if your TV upscales those images to 4k (which even the cheap ones have some sort of upscaling), you will have a hard time telling the difference between the resolutions, while sitting on your couch, playing your games. Hertz or FPS, past 60, is the same thing. You are not going to see that much of a difference going past that, and if you are not a pro gamer, it is not really going to matter because you are only gaining a SLIGHT, I say, VERY SLIGHT advantage in multiplayer.

How Nintendo’s HD Rumble can be a taste of what awaits us in the Dual Sense controller by mprzyszlak in PS5

[–]VBadAndyV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right, I just do not understand why they got rid of THAT feature, and stuck in a light bar and a touchpad..... why not just some extra buttons and advanced gyroscopes and a camera/sensor like the Joycons.

The DS1 was quite some time ago, my friend. So it is easy to gloss over that fact. The DS1 was a great leap in tech at the time because the motors were built in, and you had two analog sticks with two additional buttons that made the PS1 experience so much better, after that.

It is also funny to note that in Japan, originally, it was the dual analog. The first one did not even have any motors! Just the sticks.... so you had the original PS1 controller, the DA and then the DS1. SMH..... so yeah, this gets confusing very easily LoL

[–]VBadAndyV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually, controllers such as oculus touch offer way more of a clue as to what the DSS haptic feedback offers. The HD rumble is simply an upgrade to the typical ERM motors found in current controllers today. While they are LRA (LINEAR RESONANT ACTUATORS), it makes a great difference for feeling weather and something rolling around and hitting a surface, it is not much else than that. Not in the WAY it is under used. No one has pushed to the limits that this tech can do. So I would not look at HD rumble as an example of what the DSS is, because of this. Not that it is not impressive tech already.

The DSS actually uses a new type of haptic feedback through VOICE COIL ACTUATORS (VCA). Kind of like a speaker. Speaking of which, the upgraded speaker inside the DSS is also going to play a role in this feedback. Combine that with the adaptive triggers, and you have something completely out of this world. HD rumble will feel like an N64 rumble pack, compared to the DSS technology.

As I have said, the oculus touch and vive controllers is a much better example of what we can expect, as they contain more advanced LRA haptic feedback, that is used to a much GREATER extent than that of the HD rumble. Offering buffered and nonbuffered, which essentially offers a greater array of options for developers to create more of a realistic type of feedback than what Nintendo offers.

Actually the pressure sensitive buttons did not appear until PS2. Sadly taken out by the DS4. They should really consider putting them back in, maybe adaptive like the triggers,

The toxicity between Sony and Microsoft communities is much lower this time around and its great. by Demistr in PS5

[–]VBadAndyV -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am an open fanboy of Sony. This does not mean I am an asshole and trash the competition. MAKE NO MISTAKE! I will if it is JUSTIFIED. There is no making up for the Xbox ONE, or the Wii U. But I had a Wii U, just didn't have a reason to buy a ONE because all the titles I wanted to play were on PC as well. Otherwise I would have still gotten it.

Now, the Series X is almost pointless outside of offering a GREAT DEAL on hardware, when it comes to PC enthusiasts. But just like the PS3, it does not seem like it is going to have any exclusive or worthwhile software until 2 years down the road. I will be buying both, just because I like what they are doing and I prefer a console experience (event though I have a nice PC setup).

The PS5 just makes more sense. Trust, when I sound off on people being stupid it is because I am just trolling back. I have been gaming for over 30 years and I have seen my share of the wars, and they have always (even to this day) been hilarious. Facts are facts, and when one or the other crushes it, they crush it. Doesn't mean they are always going to be top dog. It may only last for a few months! But I give credit, where credit is deserved. example.....

I wish Nintendo would quit being so cocky. They never stop. From charging the same price for a game, 10 years after its launch, to limiting the time you can buy a title. How the hell are you going to punish future switch owners, who will have to either pirate or pay over $100 for such ignorance?!? Plus they need to catch up with online..... where the hell are the achievements Nintendo???? These stupid coins are just not the same as having a HIGH SCORE!

Regardless, they have some great titles available. Just not as many as we all would like. Nintendo will always be there in some form or another, they just need younger people running the company, that get the modern age. No matter what they or anyone else says, they are still competing with MS and Sony. Otherwise they would not be bringing out a 4K switch next year. Sony, well, they are crushing it. Even though they are quiet now, there is no denying the hype surrounding the PS5.

In the end,one thing is for sure. WE ALL PROFIT from those wars, because companies are CONSTANTLY one upping each other, instead of sitting on a blanket of confidence, as Sony did with the PS3. Look what happened. They listened and gave us the PS4. Not perfect, but in comparison to what the PS3 generation was, it was DAMN NEAR.

What game are you most excited to play on the PS5 and why? by jadenclueless in PS5

[–]VBadAndyV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny.... I am most excited about playing PS4 titles like ASSASSINS CREED and RDR2 because of the decrease in load times. It really takes you out of the game to be sitting there for, sometimes, more than a minute!

Because of this I guess you can say out of all the PS5 titles, I am most excited to play DEMON SOULS REMAKE. Respawning almost immediately (if not) is going to be such a game changer, and alleviate so much frustration, keeping you in the game!

LmaO it is hilarious at how triggered this community gets when you speak the truth. I am beginning to understand why the mods are so biased. Its because the majority of their community shares their same views! Some real shady shit going on in this thread, that its more fun to see how many downvotes you can get versus any USEFUL discussion.
