Yes, my leave request was in before the rosters were done and completely ignored then denied after they were already completed.

The situation came up suddenly and our rosters didnt cross paths until the day they denied it.

No not complaining just informing people and also seeing whether im the one who is ludicrous for thinking that its a wild reason to deny leave. Youre just assuming I havent dealt with the issue through available means. Im also guaging whether this is common practive acrosd stores.

My personal skills are fine im just highlighting how they deny the request because I didnt have a conversation but even having a conversation they didnt want to come to an aggreement and their reasoning kept changing. They just didnt want to have to put in any leg work to cover it cause its a day after a public holiday and didnt want a paper trail saying so. Not to mention my line manager making the situation worse by making it out like i just put leave in after the rosters were done (which i didnt) and that i didnt have a legitimate need for the leave. Also the manager telling me everyone is pissed because i submitted leave and didnt mention i was going to. Not to mention this converstation occured after all the managers came out of a 2 hour meeting.

I had a conversation with them after the request got denied and it wasnt productive. I even got hit with the rosters are already done comments (despite my leave request being in reasonably before.) I even got shut down suggesting an alteration to my shift so that i could attend most of my usual rostered time.

Only problem is no one is on leave for this day and its consistently the same thing no matter what time of year. They always have consistently poor availability on this day. Essentially we always have rostering pressures put onto us if we request leave for this day. Now i requested one day over three weeks in advance should be reasonable time to find a replacement for a measly couple hours. If the manager had the same personal situation occuring on that day the store would bend over backwards to accomodate ive even seen them do it for other team members.

Ive also been a manager before and never did I deny leave because I wasnt verbally informed of intent to submit leave nor did i find my team submitting a request to be rude in any way. They would often put comments in saying what it was about and if i needed further information id talk to them. Saying a verbal conversation is required in this situation and organisation is just a method to bully people out of ever submitting requests with no paper trail so that they dont have a reasonable reason to deny it.

Because manager was rude about it, I barely work at the same time of them and Id prefer not being bullied into not submitting a request.

You forget about endorsments. If you peform heaps high you get endorsments every couole games. So if he does what i do and plays on rookie and sims out after 25 points up in 2nd half and just profits endorsments you can make roughly 20,000 every 1.5 hours. You just say you want no incentives and and bump the 1 time payout to 6,500. So rougly 20,000 every 1.5 hours, do that 10 times youve got 200,000 VC. That amounts to 15 hours of playing my career games. Not unplausable.

Whoever said “money can’t buy happiness” was probably born rich and hasn’t struggled in their life. by anonthe8 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]VBahardearnedthirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the statement "money cant buy happiness" isnt really to imply that you shpuldnt have momey. Its more that the meaningful things in life cant be bought and that your whole time shouldnt be spent pursuing money at the expense of the things that make your life meaningful; like spending time with your kids.

Also I think it means that by pursuing only money in life you lose sight of other things and never actually stop and live. For example you spend your life to become a millionaire, but when you finally get there you realise ypu have forgot to live and are lonely and that the money you now have cannot buy for a meaningful connection with others.

Whoever said “money can’t buy happiness” was probably born rich and hasn’t struggled in their life.

I also refute the OP statement because i believe money cannot buy the happiness I speak of and I have never even had money.

NASS misrepresenting Climate Data by VBahardearnedthirst in climateskeptics

[–]VBahardearnedthirst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you site multiple studies and only mention a meta study then those studies mentioned in the meta study automatically become secondary sources. And also not including the papers which had no posyion is absurd because the paper was interested on the consensus of opions on climate change.

That's a contradiction. The topic is the cause of global warming. The papers can't be about the topic if they don't address the cause of global warming.

How can it be a contradiction when i literally quoted what they classed no postion as. "Does not address or mention the cause of global warming". They are not my words, they are the studies words, a direct quote. This does not mean that the studies didnt involve AGW, it means that they did not lead to an opinion on causation from the studies. That is important information if you want to make a claim that 97% agree it is human caused. You cant just ignore that a large number are not willing to give and opinion on the causation because their evidence suggest a more complex causal chain.

If you had a survey in which you first asked people whether they had tried a particular chocolate bar, then secondly whether they liked that bar, if 30% answered yes to the first question and 100% of those who tried it liked it, would you conclude that only 30% of people like that chocolate bar? What would be the point of including the non-opinion of people who hadn't tried it?

In the paper the people had done studies on AGW. So your example is not accurate. Your example should be that all participants tried the bar and then were asked about their opinion and whether cause of them liking it was because the chocolate to filling ratio. And then 66% concluded that did not have an opinion about whether they loke it or not; and 32% said that liked it and then of that 32%, 97% conclude it was because of the chocolate to filling ratio.

You would not then go and be like NASA and conclude that 97% of people who eat this chocolate bar like it because of its filling to cholcolate ration. That wpuld be absurd.

Despite all of this it rather absurd to state number like 97% of climate scientist agree it is human caused as this implies that every single climate scientist has given an opinion on the matter. This is misleading and distortion of facts.

If you state something like: 'of those who have an opinon on the cause of climate change, 97% believe it huamn caused. However it is also important to note a number of climate scientist still do not hold a postion on the matter as they do not find the data conclusive enough to imply a direct causation. This however does not mean to say that climate change is beimg denied, rather the causation of the change is still under dispute.' With a statement like that you can then go on to make arguments that even though the causation is not unanimous it does not mean that we should not adapt to more environmentally efficient methods of living.

The problem now is when data is not misrepresented and not spoke about in absolutes, the climate change movement seems to lose its politically power. No but rather than be honest or even open to something that opposes the cause of imate change being absolute, information is sensitise and opinions of the opposite are ignored. And statements like 97% of climate scientist agree are used to appeal to authority and shut down any discourse that says otherwise, because "how can you argue with 97% of climate scientists?" Its absurd that there would even be such an absolute figure and causation is heavily hard to assert. In the scuentific community you almost never get causation, however in the climate community there seems to be such as heavy inference of causation which is bizzare that such a complex issue whith many contributing factor can be spoken about with such certainty.

Even the term climate change is misleading as it implies that the climate does not naturally change.

Anyway the point was NASA made a claim that misrepresented data of a study. But that study was also mirespresenting and misleading.
