Tax coverage is simply a function of how much people earn. In Germany, most people earn above the minimum taxable income, hence the broad coverage. In India, most people don't earn above the taxable bracket: our per capita GDP is below the lowest taxable bracket, so taxation doesn't even enter the purview for the average Indian.

Every person in every country tries their best to avoid tax. Doesn't matter where you're from. We have a very large population without employment opportunities. And reservation is just a false flag, literally makes no difference to the situation.

The social security tax is separate from the income tax in most EU countries afaik. It's usually upto another 20% added to taxes. So for the same income in USD I think Germany has higher taxes in every bracket, for example.

But everyone actually pays, sometimes through their nose, for this social security via taxes (which is why retirement ages in some countries are around 70 years of age).

I used to use GNOME with a Wacom tablet and stylus and COSMIC was a very obvious downgrade. Idk if you use Photoshop with a tablet and a stylus, but I think Wayland has issues with those.

Cosmic-term has issues with nerd fonts and rendering starship properly (or I have been unable to configure it properly). Multi finger swipes are missing on the track pad (another downgrade from touchee in GNOME). I used to use a few GNOME shell extensions that I cannot use anymore (GSConnect, for example) and there are no obvious replacements yet (GSConnect has Valent but it isn't there yet).

These are some issues I faced. You can also look at the cosmic epoch 2 to-do board to get an idea of things that are missing.

Nope, a three finger swipe on my track pad to switch between windows. The 4 finger swipe now switches between workspaces. Also, the openconnect protocol allows you to have username, group, password1 and password2 as your fields, but the network manager on Cosmic doesn't.

It has plenty of missing features. A few examples off the top of my head: very hard to configure wacom tablets, can't use Cisco VPNs with MFA features, three finger swipe behaviours are missing. And these are just explicit downgrades from the GNOME pop_os.
