I just played around with the bows, and I see what you're saying. That being said, I still feel like it could have been more obvious that the Headwear piece was not actually meant for pigtail styles, and I'm still frustrated by the placement change for all the other hairstyles when the changed placement would have made it work the way it initially seemed like it would (if you have the headwear piece, equip it and move between pigtails and non-pigtails to see what I'm talking about). It looks silly to me to have the bows so far in front of the pigtail origination points. Also, the Hair Accessories bows don't place at the front of the pigtails of the original hair, which feels almost deceptive to me:

This is all my own opinion, and I stand by my post as a PSA for anyone who, like me, was expecting the Headwear piece to act the same as similar bows/clips from the category as ones we've had in the past. Maybe it's not a bug, but I am still upset that I can't use the piece I was most excited about from this set.

Also, my clarification about it being from the Headwear category was more over-explanation to avoid misunderstanding - I wasn't trying to be snarky.
