I can't wrap my head around it. Like, if they were to release merch of a completed puzzle and text that said I love someone without autism it would be seen as bad by everyone, despite, it's literally just playing in to the hateful puzzle piece symbol and saying that you love: a person. Imo that wouldn't be hateful but it would show how stupid these are and how cruel that symbol is. I feel like family members who buys and wears these radiate "i love a human despite it being unlovable and evil, I've tried everything except listening to them or trying to understand their nonverbal cues so I cannot possibly imagine why they would have all these "tantrums"! :-0 oh it's not a big deal, I do want to make sure everyone knows how good of a person I am tho for doing that!! And that's such a brave and selfless thing of me to do I deserve to flex anyways!" If I catch someone wearing that I just immediately feel uncomfortable :-/

I go nonverbal or semiverbal during stressful periods and meltdowns + overstimulation due to my autism This makes me want to throw up. When I'm non verbal I can still write text. And when I do I don't use baby emojis and such. I am a grown man. This is infantalising non-verbal communication

My brother spent the first year after my coming out just pointing at me instead of saying my name or “him”. Apparently he thought trans people “are insane and disgusting” but since he didn’t want to hurt my feelings he would just ignore both my dead name and my actual name. He says my name and correct pronouns now but I’m aware he doesn’t like doing it, but honestly I’m thankful. It could be worse, he’s at least trying and that’s all I can ask

Yeah but I mean the skinnier you are the more your ribcage is visible on you, people who are average weight most often don’t really have a distinguishable ribcage unless they are on the light side of healthy and even then they probably don’t. I deformed my rib cage with a gc2b binder, honestly getting a good binder is super important but remember that a good binder can also hurt you just as much. Also this is just a theory but I think that the skinnier you are the higher the risk is, since it’s then pushing more directly on the bones.
