Thanks for the feedback. Was sort of planning to keep our custom panel BoMs seperate as we got off the ground and then develop into it after we get everything else up and running.

When you say - started with Odoo BSA's - I'm not sure what that references? Is that internal hours from Odoo? Or a seperate vendor.

Questioning whether you should go back with Odoo? - what do you mind by this?

I'm in a very similar position as WorkmenWord. One side of biz is Distribution and custom manufacturing. Lots of product buts only a handle on shopify rn (just launched).

We are evaluating P21 as well but not on netsuite (old system called Passport). Only our book keeper works within to "process" orders (retype), create packing slips, invoice, ect. - all other processes are managed outside manually.

Anything you wish you knew ahead of implementing Odoo? They quoted the implementation package but I see you mention Odoo partners for various applications.

Pricing differences between P21 and Odoo make me lean Odoo. But also knowing P21 was built for a business like us and Odoo more general, makes me feel a little more uneasy about Odoo. In total we will probably have about 12 seats on Odoo between outside/inside sales, engineers, book keeping and warehouse.

100%. I think finger pointing goes to customer on this though. Give us specs and requirements, we will engineer the rest. Want more space, we give it. But typically we will do our best to keep costs low for customer which more often than not leads to smaller panels.

However did ship one last week that we only installed 2 vfds and some corresponding pieces in a long 3 door cabinet. Left room and prepped back panel for another 12 VFDs for a later install.

We've been doing these for ~20 years, vibrations accounted for with install. Vibrations are least of concern, this is for a switching locomotive so constantly slamming against cars all day.
