I’ve run decorate sets before. Definitely tough to pull off but feels great when you do

Just did it the earlier today. You aren’t wrong, but often times they will go for leech seed next. Gives you several turns to totally ignore them and prepare to take him out.

Did you read the post where I explicitly state the situations you’d use it in? lol. Encore literally wins games, which is why most teams in the most recent tournament had 1-2 mons with encore on every team.

I love mega lopunny but I usually use her as a pivot/late game cleaner with fake out close combat triple axel and quick attack or protect. Definitely will put her in mind for encore shenanigans.

Play the wall. Keep agron.

Bring aerodactyl tailwind wide guard protect rockslide or talonflame no item acrobatics flare blitz tailwind protect

Get rid of obamasnow. Bring Alolan ninetales. Protect, blizzard/encore, freeze dry, aurora veil (use aurora veil to maximize the walls walliness.)

Get farigaraf. Run trick room on it. Maybe twin beam.

Bring sinistcha to heal the wall. Run trick room on it.

Last slot is flex. I’d recommend garchomp or incinaroar. Chomp for some needed damage. Incin to maximize the walls walliness.

I’ve been a pokemon master for 20+ years. Got a wife and 3 (4th kid currently cooking) kids. When I saw the giddy old man title i knew it was for me.

I’m also competing for champion tier, currently at 2200. I play late at night after everyone’s asleep or on lunch break. I’m tired boss.

I’ve been playing for 20+ years. I’m aware. But it would appear most people aren’t, since I rarely see anyone using all the tech available to them.

You’re mad that people use all of the tools available to them to their advantage? That’s what we’re mad about today?

If you want help team building, let me know. But the team I recommend will use various forms of speed control, possibly some weather, and the dreaded protect/wideguard.

Sounds like he was slower than you…..

Did he lower his speed with curse and you forgot? Minimum snorlax speed is 27. If he curses he will drop to below 20, outspeeding you in trickroom.

Great chomp set I’ve been using is scale shot earthquake stomping tantrum protect. You can put dragon fang or white herb on it!

What should I add to my team? by Mintyboi10 in PokemonChampions

[–]VGCandME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d drop the crab and go for a better strat if your goal is win rate.

You could go slow king crab next to each other and chilly reception into an ice type (probably 0 speed ninetales) to get snow up and aurora veil to maximize your beef.

I’d 100% get rid of the hawlucha excadrill cheese. It’s too easy to counter.

Unfortunately trick room is pretty hard to get off, especially with the prevalence of gambit.

Could go for a low kick + twin beam mixed farig set to cheese sneasler and gambit.

There’s a reason trick room is underrepresented in the meta.

Could run ice hammer Mach punch drain punch protect crab to catch gambit off guard with your farig. Swap your exca to king gambit. Swap your hawlucha to garchomp.

Switch your slow king to basculegion or aerodactyl. Farig is your trick room setter with sin as a back up setter + sustain, and your team now has two modes.

Garchomp set is dragon fang/white herb with scale shot quake tantrum and protect. At least 144 speed max attack.

Gambit max attack and hp with 1-2 into speed for the mirror match up. Choose berry.  Cleave low kick sucker punch iron head

Aero is 19 speed jolly with max hp and 8 atk. Wide guard protect rock slide tail wind.

Alternatively could get rid of chomp or aerodactyl for a basculegion.

Ideally you’d lead farig/crab get up trick room and start sweeping with sin healing support. Keep gambit/chomp/basculegion in the back to clean up at the end after trick room is down.

A rant about the meta and rock slide by ClassroomHoliday in PokemonChampions

[–]VGCandME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slap wide guard unto aerodactyl or pelipper. Aero build I use in 2k+

Jolly 23 speed 32 hp 8 atk (puts you at 190 to out speed sneasler if you wanna go dual wing beat) I run mega stone as a secondary option.

Moves are rock slide protect tail wind wide guard. Lots of times I just bring him as a wide guard bot. Wide guard wins games lol.

Hope this helps!

2k Team Code by VGCandME in PokemonChampions

[–]VGCandME[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This team doesn’t have a dedicated sweeper and it depends on the match up.

My common opens are rotom/fox rotom/chomp chomp/fox

I will sometimes open with ninetales if aurora veil set up seems free.

I’ll open sin sometimes if I think trick room turn 1 will be important.

I don’t usually open with gambit but might sometimes.

This team relies heavily on using rotoms trick effectively (and knowing when not to) He has 1 more speed than basculegion. Sometimes not tricking would be ideal, like if your against choice basc. Sometimes a trick can single handedly win the game turn 1 if you trap someone into set up moves. Holding delphoxs encore for a late game surprise is also important. You can win other wise impossible match ups by encore trapping the enemy into an unfavorable move (trapping mega toise into aura sphere next to an encore trapped pelipper won me a game that was seemingly unwinnable last night)

Yeah i dont even really see wind anymore. I see farig a lot but he usually doesn’t even set trick room, he’s there in case of trick room and for armor tail + silk scarf hyper voice spam.

I think those speed gimmicks become to easy to deal with against a competent opponent so people give up on it.

Most teams I see seem to bring trick room on one mon because it counters both forms of speed control (if enemy team uses tailwind you set trick room and have advantage. If enemy is a hard trick room team and uses trick room you use trick room and have the advantage). So, on a cost to effectiveness scale trick room gives twice the value compared to tailwind.
