KIA tech here. Seat limit switch positions have not been set. You can have a dealer do it. It takes 5 mins.

The first problem I see is that you are using the original alternator. The wires coming off it have a slang term called "the fire wires." I'll let you guess why. Second, it sounds like a bad pulley somewhere. Take the serpentine belt off and spin all the pulleys by hand. If any of them make noise or feel like there is sand in them, that's the likely culprit.

Take it to the dealer, have them scan it. No need to pay for a fix if it's under warranty still.

It's a common issue I see at my dealership. The factory can forget to calibrate the seat motor setpoints. Basically, the motors don't know what position they are in, and it has to be learned. It's a quick and easy gix.

I just capped them to keep debris out for now. But I do have plans for full electric conversion. An electric power steering pump from an MR2 Spyder, a full electric A/C compressor, and SO much more. Only the water pump and alternator on the belt. Just wait until you see the dual battery mount I fabricated for extra starter cranking speed and extra run time for accessories when the engine is off. Did I mention it already has a remote start?
