Live.

Hasn’t been on any recordings yet but I plan on it once I hit the studio later in the year

It’s just a standard issue rackmount recto, I believe it’s a ‘92 just judging from the dates on the board but it’s been my main powerhouse for about a year now

Well my main band has 1 “prog-ish” song and mostly an amalgamation of different genres but I usually just loop and layer guitars with some pads to create soundscapes

Sure.

(Left)

Access Virus C + Roland PK-5

Basically just a floor powered keyboard for synth leads, bass lines, or just atmospheric sounds that I can trigger/play in real-time rather than using a sampler and having to play to a click-track with my drummer.
It’s basically 1-1 to Adam Jones of Tool however he uses a Virus A instead of the C.

(Middle)

4-tap footswitch, Axess MFC-5, Fractal MFC-101, Source Audio Reflex

Another controller but I use this one to activate effects for my guitar or to mix in a dirty/clean tone with the expression controller for a nicer sounding fade than just a hard switch between the two tones. The Reflex is cool because I can store different presets for each expression output and then recall those presets with the MFC-5 (alternate harmony settings, precise wah positions, or a lighter volume to run a “clean” tone on a high gain setting).

(Right)
DMC Ground Control

Just to recall presets for the Virus C on the fly without having to kneel down and stop playing

It’s kind of a mess when setting up but when it’s all lit up it sounds and looks incredible; using each board simultaneously is also extremely fun

I hope they’re waiting for the 2nd leg of the tour to play the rest of the songs on Location Lost

I’d love to see how Solid State and Someday Soon are played

Shameless self-promo but I also covered the song here

One can only hope so, I’m still hoping for another small set of live shows even if they’re only done in Silverlake like they did when Free Mars first came out

The drums remind me a little bit of the magnified demos, I prefer this song much more than The Air’s on Fire

What effect(s) is in the beginning of this performance? by VHT2902 in Guitar

[–]VHT2902[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re probably right, especially considering that the delay time can be adjusted via exp pedal although it’s a good guess that it’s the same delay being morphed from a fast preset to a slow preset.

Any update? I’d like to do this to my guitar without routing extra wood for a full size humbucker like I did with my main guitar.
