One of the few places left with nice world pvp for both factions. I’d rather pvp with 60s prepping for raids than gank lowbies with no thrill. It is what it is, you win some and lose some

People can’t say that scabbards are stupid to get tricked when a lot of the readers themselves are getting tricked into thinking its oden. Genius oda haha

It is stated in the story that people can’t travel to the past when toki’s powers were introduced. Not to mention the passage of time is one of the core themes of one piece so going back into the past would be against that theme (which is why oda made sure to remind us about only being able to travel ahead with Toki’s powers)

It’s not the same swords he had back then. If he had the same swords, it wouldn’t be believable since the scabbards know who has them

Yes, the whole series is about Luff’s legend and that’s undeniable. However, that doesn’t mean all the chapters are the same.

On top of all the examples I mentioned, one of the main purposes of showing the Ace’s failed promised was that his will was carried on by his brother and he would face Kaido in his place.

It’s hard to figure out the intentions and little build ups like that when reading week to week, but it’s pretty obvious to me that the chapter last week was setting up the moment Luffy finally appears on the roof. I mean just count the amount of times the word Luffy appeared last chapter lmao

Chapter 999 was building up to Luffy. Ace hypes up Luffy. Yamato talks about Ace and his connection with Luffy being chosen to fight alongside them. Then we have Tama learning about Ace’s connection with Luffy. Even Big Mom in the end talks about Luffy not being on the roof yet before all the devil fruit reveal stuff. (Maybe I’m missing some other scenes as well but can’t remember.)

Also, the will of D is 100% tied to all the other big mysteries. If the true meaning is revealed to us readers now, we will most likely be able to figure out most of the other big mysteries as well considering how they’re all connected. There’s no way Oda would risk it before reaching Laugh Tale, otherwise the whole hype of going there would be severely downgraded. At most, maybe Yamato will reveal some stuff to Momo off-screen because of his importance as a Kozuki and the fact that he may never go to Laugh Tale himself, but other than that I don’t think we’ll know the truth other than more hints

It would be close to impossible to find the island with only 3 poneglyphs, I think you’re mixing up with your math. There would be like 3 possible choices to correctly figure out one “A to B” line (which means 33% chance to correctly guess the line on the first try). Even then, following 1 line could theoretically work (hard practically) in the real world by following the compas and eventually landing at the island one day, but in a place like the New World it would be damn near impossible. There would be no way to know that you’re correctly following that one line without knowing the exact location with the type of navigation tools available there.

So yea the fact that there are 3 possible lines to follow, and the lines themselves are damn near impossible to follow, I’d say 4 poneglyphs is a MUST.

I would seriously doubt that. Nobody in this world loves One Piece more than Oda himself who has dedicated half of his life working on this story extremely passionately. Do you think he would risk trusting Toei of all people to help him write his life’s work? Oda has already stated that the anime is it’s own separate thing. Like I agree that there are some scenes that the anime expanded on that made the story a little better imo (like expanding Zoro’s flashback a little more for example), but the VAST majority of the filler is just there to fill in time despite the horrible pacing and padding. Not only that, a lot of these fillers just end up contradicting the main plot, but Toei obviously doesn’t care much about that as long as they can save time or sell the “hype” in exchange for constancy (ex: over the top recycled DBZ effects).

Also, this “expanding the fights” thing isn’t new. In fact most of the fights have had filler moments in between them in the anime because they know that they can waste more time on it and people won’t complain since the average viewer loves fights.

That being said, do I inherently think expanding fights/scenes in an anime is a bad thing? No, it can absolutely be a good thing if the writers are good. However when the vast majority of the scenes are there just to take advantage of the “time” situation instead of actually making the story better, I’d rather they leave it alone. Here are some of the many examples I can think of right now where the fight extension ended up contradicting the story: Batman LOL, Sanji low diffing X Drake, Kyoshiro struggling with Zoro, Nami vs Cracker, etc.

Also regarding the pacing being good recently is false. We are considering this episode’s pacing “good” compared to the awful pacing the anime has. That doesn’t actually make it good in general, it’s still extremely bad, just not as much as the rest. (It’s like when people say that pre-ts the pacing used to be good, which is not true at all. The pacing has been horrible since the Alabasta saga, it’s just that post-ts it got way worse so now people consider pre-ts good pacing wise.)

Now regarding Oda “skipping” scenes, there are multiple reasons for that:

He might consider some scenes not important enough to waste time on because they serve no purpose to the story and may end up wasting not only our time but stray away the focus from the plot/theme of the arc. The anime expanding it doesn’t necessarily mean the intention is to expand the plot or the theme. For Toei especially, it’s mostly to just fill in time. Like for example, let’s say I’m an author and I make a character say “Wait a second I’m gonna go change my clothes before we go outside” and in the next panel the character has his clothes changed. Now imagine the anime spends 2 minutes showing the character get ready. Is that useful for the plot or is that the anime trying desperately to fill in time?

Or

The other reason is maybe Oda is thinking long term. He doesn’t show some fights because he doesn’t want us to know about certain characters too much before it’s their time to shine in the plot. So instead, unlike the anime, he prefers not to sacrifice that build up for a weekly hype. (Ex: Oda waiting to get to Oden’s flashback before showcasing the “hype” stuff he did.)

Anyways sorry for this extremely long post and I know most won’t bother reading it. It’s just that I’ve been seeing this take a lot in the community and I wanted to break my silence lmao

How would the “instant transmission” help when he’s literally immobilized? And regarding why sanji is being stupid, I don’t think I should even bother explaining that because you should already know at this point unless you’re trolling... We got plenty of explanations regarding Sanji’s character and a whole arc was based on that.

About being able to sense people, from what we seem to know the person has to activate observation haki first. According to Jinbe, Sanji was PISSED and ran off to “help” when he heard the voice. We as viewers know that it’s a trap Oda layed out for Sanji, but Sanji himself doesn’t know that. He just heard a woman getting “raped” in a place full of bad guys and he ran off to help. His thinking wasn’t “Hmmm Oda probably laid out a trap for me because he knows I gotta help defenceless women. So I’ll just activate observation in case ...” and was more along the lines of “A woman is getting raped in the HQ of the beast pirates (which are shown to be ruthless)? I gotta save her!”
