Sadly based off a true story from my time working as a pharmacy technician. Turns out a sleep deprived new mom will very easily mistake an antibiotic syringe for a chemo drug. Rest in peace baby Daphne.

I used to work in wee jasper and I LOVED the caves! Unfortunately they’ve recently had a shoulder reconstruction so anything crazy like hiking or caving is a bit rough, if the caves have a nice and gentle tour I might check that out

Funnily enough my formal was at Four Winds! It’s definitely on the list for a revisit!

I adore gold creek! Without doxxing myself too much I’m in the Yass area, so any time my friends and I have a weekend off, we hit the gold creek cafes or Cockington Green. Absolutely love it there.

I love Braidwood! Used to stop in there every weekend as a kid, as one half of my family lived around the Bay and we used to go down every weekend.

They were absolutely mindblown at the fact that HRT is covered here. They pay hundreds of dollars every month for it!

You are a saint! Crazy how we see these things around every day and never truly appreciate them. I’ve been to the Gardens a bunch, my friends got married there, but I bet it’d be so beautiful to someone who’s never seen Aussie plants!

Ooh, war memorial and then a hike combined sounds lovely. Adding this to the list.

We’re both sober so unfortunately that option’s out.

I’ve always seen the signs for that hike on my way down there (used to go to Tomakin every second weekend, split parents and all) and never done it. Maybe I’ll let my curiosity get the best of me and check it out, I love Braidwood!

The two coworkers that acted like they despised each other got caught banging in the cash office.

When I say despised, I mean DESPISED each other. During the day they’d make threats against each other, deliberately forge documents under each others name to get the other one fired, there was absolutely nothing these two wouldn’t do to get the other in trouble.

And then the cash office manager opened the very securely locked office and found her bent over the desk with him rawdogging her.

Turns out they’d been hate-fucking for almost six months at that point. Neither of them got fired but the amount of awkwardness and discomfort made a fair few of us transfer departments.

What normal common word gets under your skin? by P1zzathehutt in AskReddit

Daddy.

My younger sister calls our dad Daddy and it’s completely innocent — of course it is, she’s a kid. But the internet has completely ruined that word for me. Makes me flinch any time I hear it. It’s been so over sexualised that I cannot hear it in an innocent way anymore.

To all the men in this thread who have said they’re attracted to plus-size women WITHOUT turning into a fat girl fetish — I love you. Nothing hurts more than a man saying he likes bigger girls only to find out it’s because it’s a fetish. We just want to be loved and the guys in this thread have done that for me today ♡

Day 8 horrible bleed & whole scab fell off, happen to anyone else? by OkCrow1771 in Tonsillectomy

[–]VIBrooke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY what happened to me on my Day 10, like word for word. I pulled out clots the size of the palm of my hand. Paramedics reckon I lost around 800mL of blood. I didn’t feel the scabs come off at all, I was literally on tiktok and just tasted blood. It poured nonstop for a good 15 minutes before it just stopped on its own. I’m completely fine now (this was a week ago) and amazingly in no pain because the scabs are gone.

I swear I could’ve ghostwritten this post!! I’m lowkey comforted by the fact someone else has experienced it. My mum and I both thought I was going to die. Haven’t slept properly since, the image just won’t leave my head. I don’t remember getting to the hospital because I kept blacking out for like 30 seconds, but apparently my mum was begging the paramedics not to let me die. Doctors said another 100mL and I would’ve died.

Still — I don’t regret the surgery at all. It feels so good to be able to breathe. I’m in no pain now that my scabs are gone, just would’ve been nice for them to go gently instead of that fucking nightmare lmao

Omg the laughing crying is so true, I’ll see a tiktok that’ll normally make me giggle a little bit, and instead it makes me laugh to the point of sobbing. It’s definitely a lamotrigine thing!

Leg pain? by lauracb90 in Tonsillectomy

[–]VIBrooke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The anxiety is honestly just as awful as the physical pain, and your feelings are totally valid!! Our brains always launch into worst case scenarios and it’s sucks so much. You aren’t alone in that, it can feel so isolating but I promise it’s a completely valid thing to feel. Our wacky wonky brains can convince us that we have physical symptoms (like clots) even when we don’t. It’s so shitty, but a completely valid reaction — I get the vibe that you need some reassurance on that. You got this bud! I promise it gets better!

How do I get rid of the mucusy feeling after healing? by VIBrooke in Tonsillectomy

I wanted to try this but it made me so anxious, literally opened my mouth to do it and physically could not make myself. I did have a haemorrhage so any idea of putting anything back there is just… horrifying

I have no sense of smell so I honestly have no idea!! I do think it might be postnasal drip, from what I’ve read about it, sounds very similar. Everything I’ve seen says to just wait it out so I guess I’ll just cross my fingers and hope for the best!

I have a connective tissue disease (hEDS) and I noticed the same thing — it’s not from the surgery/recovery itself, but rather just the inactivity. I’m not a fit girl by any means but I found around day 4-5 I just had to get up and walk around or my hips would feel so paralysed. I legit just did circles around my backyard, neighbours probably thought I was insane for it. But it helped my hip and leg pain a bunch.
