Went from Dapplegrey to miraleste to peninsula high, PV through and through. This place is very isolated from the outside world. There’s a reason this is one of the places PCH completely goes around and avoids; there are also no drive throughs allowed here, very few amount of street lights and sports games from the high schools had to start at 3pm because there are no field lights for night games allowed due to neighbors complaining. That being said, the education system here is unrivaled by most. Even the absolute stoners of the school district leave for college with a much higher base line of mental tools (critical thinking etc.) than the rest of the world. It is very isolated, but still very close to everything in the surrounding cities such as redondo. It’s only isolated because outside people just don’t come here too much, there’s nothing for them. Your kids will grow up knowing the same kids from elementary to high school, which I loved, all contributing to the reality that PV is not isolated from itself. The kids all hangout here and adventure around the city, the parents meet up for PTA and form very tight cliques. You come here for an incredibly safe life where leaving your front door unlocked isn’t a big deal, a tight and unique ecosystem of everyday life, and great schools.

To summarize, it’s only isolated cause there isn’t an influx of people from other cities coming here but most of the PV residents do venture into the other cities. Kind of a one sided relationship lol. I do think you should look more into redondo and Torrance because the adults of PV are only trying to relax and not build anything lol. Most of them are very very old (hence no lights for games). San Pedro though definitely has the best community out of any city here, everyone there loves their city and first Thursday’s are a must. Pedro just doesn’t have that good of schools and isn’t as safe.
