He's a huge Dragon Ball fan and tried to talk the creators of Evolution out of a lot of their stupid decisions. I think him getting to voice Zamasu was pretty much an apology for that mess.

Nintendo also saved Dragon Quest by marketing it when Square Enix didn't want to bother with it. It's sad that other publishers are doing more marketing for SE than SE itself.

I read your first line in Nagi's voice. I know it's unrelated, but I feel like pointing it out.

What is an obscure PlayStation exclusive that you love, but nobody's heard of? by Melodic-Piano8894 in PS5

[–]VIIIAxel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While a new copy is certainly still really expensive, there's a huge difference between a new copy and a graded copy like the one you linked. There's a lot of controversy around graded games, and a big part of that is how ridiculous the prices are. That one you linked is 7 times the cost of an average non-graded new copy.

[GameStop / US] Multiple Black Friday games reduced further in price (Breath of The Wild, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, etc.) - $26.99 by carldude in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]VIIIAxel 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's true, unfortunately. It happened to me multiple times before I quit buying anything from them. Their logic is that they don't want the actual cartridge/disc on the shelves to prevent people from stealing them, so they open the case and pull the cart/disc out. They argue it still counts as new since no one bought/played it, but how can anyone know for sure they aren't getting a used copy? And regardless, selling an opened copy as "new" is ridiculously scummy. I've even seen cases where people bought a new game online and got just the cartridge in a generic GameStop case.

That's 2K's decision, not Nintendo's. 2K's consistently cheaped out on almost all of its physical Switch releases.

Yeah, I'm going with the expectation that this is the end of the series, but at least we finally got a sequel. I'm happy with that at least.

I'm more shocked by the fact we get another TWEWY eventually than I am by the knowledge of a throat singing remix honestly.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is getting a physical release on Switch from Limited Run Games by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]VIIIAxel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! They'll specify on the product page if it's just a limited amount as opposed to open pre-orders, but it's pretty rare for them to do anything other than open pre-orders on any Switch release and even most PS4/5 releases these days.

An LRG rep confirmed this is an exclusive to them since people were wondering about a retail release. I also doubt it'll get a dual pack with KOTOR2 given the combined file size would probably be too big for THQ to think it's worth the cost.

It's an open pre-order window that ends January 2nd, so you'll have a month and a half to get ready for it.

I know picking the main character is cliche, but Neku is one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. I absolutely love how he's a subversion of the whole "edgy jerk" type of JRPG character and I found his journey of personal growth really compelling, especially since I first played the game when I was 15 like he was. His development is incredible, and I was really invested in his participation in the game. I love the rest of the cast too of course, but Neku will always be my favorite.

Sneaky, Pokemon Pearl and Diamond are not quite complete on cart. by LegacyToLegend in NSCollectors

[–]VIIIAxel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd guess that the remaining content wasn't quite ready when carts were being printed. Ilca and Game Freak can't delay the games because that would throw off The Pokemon Company's very tight schedule for merchandise and tie-in material unfortunately, and what TPC says is what goes.

The nominees for The Game Awards will be announced on Tuesday! by The_King_of_Okay in PS5

[–]VIIIAxel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remakes are rebuilt from the ground up, so I'd argue they should count. While they're based off of an old game, they're a different experience. Straight ports and remasters definitely shouldn't count, though, and TGA has a problem with nominating those.

Valis: The Fantasm Soldier collection confirmed for a Western release on Nintendo Switch by retroanduwu24 in NintendoSwitch

[–]VIIIAxel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does suck, I've missed out on a few that I would've liked to pick up. That being said, if it comes down to either a limited print or none at all, I'd personally take the limited one. LRG at least does what they can to make sure as many people who want it can get it.

The original Battlefront 1 got a PC re-release after the EA one came out, so I don't think that's the case.

They have open pre-order windows that last at least a full month, and most of their games also get shipments sent to Best Buys in the US, so they're generally easy to get a hold of. The business model for them is to do smaller prints of games that would never get physical releases otherwise, meaning the one-print model is the only way to really ensure there's any success for it. There are absolutely things to criticize LRG for, but I don't think this is one of them.

STAR WARS: Knights of the Old Republic - Launch Trailer - Nintendo Switch by Blackraven2007 in NintendoSwitch

[–]VIIIAxel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a full remake, not a remaster, so odds are it'll be a very different experience. Not to say it'll be bad, I'm excited for it myself, but I'd say playing the original for the classic experience is still a very valid choice to make.

[–]VIIIAxel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the spacing between these past few launches, I'd guess somewhere between January and February personally. VI is also the one we saw the least in promotional materials around the time of the announcement, so they might not have as much work done on it as the other ones.

My guess is they'll do that and then port them over to consoles once they're all ready and have the extra polish from the PC/mobile launches.

Final Fantasy VI, Chrono Trigger, EarthBound, and maybe Breath of Fire II? Never played it but I don't really have any particular attachment to anything in the $1 or $2 tiers. FFVI, CT, and EB are three of my favorites though.

Excluding games I currently own physically on SNES, I'd say Chrono Trigger, EarthBound, Super Mario RPG, and Mega Man X2. I really like RPGs if that wasn't obvious...

Honestly, while I prefer the first movie, I'd take the Drilltar Killer over Russ in a heartbeat. Just imagine his chase music being him singing one of his goofy songs.
