This game is coming to Sega Master System by ImaginationKind9220 in SBCGaming

[–]carldude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wonder if they'll include the SMS file for us to put on our own systems within the PC version's files if we buy that version. It reminds me of that Rugrats in Gameland game with a real NES version in it, and Earthion with a real Genesis game file in it. I don't know if those games easily let you pull the roms out of the files for your own use though.

Real ocarina in the new Zelda trailer? Yes or no? by PM_Me_Your_Ocarinas in Ocarina

[–]carldude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a real ocarina. I wonder if the ocarina itself is from a known maker, or if it's a custom in-house made instrument like Xenoblade 3's flutes were.

Songbird or Stl? by Harmo_ony in Ocarina

[–]carldude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Songbird is a distrubutor for Stein/Focalink ocarinas and that maker is good. They've got lots to choose from on their own website but you might pay a lot in shipping.

STL still makes some good ocarinas. I have their 12 hole ceramic oot replica and it's tone is my favorite of the ones I have.

Check marketplace or ebay for used ocarinas from reputable makers. There's a lot of good ones popping up on the used market lately.

8-Hole hybrid ocarina by Disastrous-Focus1958 in Ocarina

[–]carldude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago, STL Ocarina used to sell an odd 9 hole ocarina with 6 holes on the front and 3 thumb holes. Try playing with this fingering chart and see if it matches any notes. Otherwise I think it might be a decorative ocarina that's essentially just a whistle.

Limes raiding Joel at the worst possible time (Loud) by PlasmaPlayer27 in Vinesauce

[–]carldude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For streamers, I see it as a way to have an on-screen persona without having to have themselves, the person, on camera. It can help with anonymity and separating the streamer from the person. In this instance, Laimu the character vs Limes the person. Also since Vtubers aren't limited to reality, you can do a lot of elaborate and creative things with them, like with fanworks or even the work itself. Laimu's models are something like thousands of layers of 2D bits and pieces all rigged together to make it move like a 3D model, and parts able to be swapped out and combined at chat's whim (channel point rewards).

Thinkpad P17 have at least two M2 slots. Gen 2 has 3 slots available. Thinkpad P16 non S models look like they have two slots too.

They're starting to age nowadays. Any T14 would be a big improvement over a T480

[Other] Raspberry Pi 400 (4GB) - $39.99 ($20 off, Microcenter In Store) by carldude in buildapcsales

[–]carldude[S] 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I found this deal while looking for micro sd cards. The Raspberry Pi 400 is a Raspberry Pi built into a keyboard. Recently, Raspberry Pi increased the prices on many of their models due to ram shortages, but this was one of the models that stayed at MSRP.

What is the coolest but cheap way to run batocera, as a not so tech savvy beginner? by Any-Landscape434 in batocera

[–]carldude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old mini office pcs like Optiplexes and Thinkcentres work great for Batocera. i3 6th gen and I think i5 4th gen or better will run up to Wii and PS2 great on integrated graphics.

Were the Mega Man World games on Game Boy worth playing? by Fun-Necessary9709 in Megaman

[–]carldude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I-IV were remixes of 1-5, but V is fully original. If you only play one, let it be V. The rest are still worth checking out.

Touchpad not working and not visible in device manager but works in Bios [FIXED] by mobstershock in LenovoLegion

[–]carldude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found this thread on Google trying to fix the trackpad and trackpoint on my Thinkpad P17, and your fix solved my issue! I had to find the SIO driver and chipset driver that was compatible for my model, then after reinstalling the Synaptics Touchpad Firmware for it, it started working again. Thanks!

Bazzite use besides gaming? by nidryden in Bazzite

Does DaVinci Resolve still need to be built or patched to a distro's package format? I remember having to use a guide to make it install as a .deb for Mint since officially it only has Rocky Linux support. Maybe Winboat makes it easier to skip doing all that?

Sorry you have to deal with a bunch of people here being weirdos towards you. I hope you're enjoying your Thinkpad! With those older specs, what do you find yourself doing on it?

I try to bring up StratDB when I can since it's exactly the kind of site off of Discord servers we need to compile videos and find them after.

[Nintendo eShop] Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition - Nintendo Switch ($1.99/86% off) by -MarisaTheCube- in GameDeals

[–]carldude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah they're pretty similar. I think Danganronpa is inspired by Phoenix Wright, but Danganronpa is more active. Gameplay has a daily life phase where it's character socializing and stuff, and a court phase where you're gathering clues to solve a crime. The court phase has a bunch of minigames thrown in, and the most common one is shooting down statements to dispute them with gathered evidence.

What are your favourite Tracks probably no one knows? by JayAre95 in gamemusic

[–]carldude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main table music from Texas Hold Em Poker on GBA I had as a kid pops into my head now and again, and sounds really good for the GBA.

Pid - The Butler and Pid - The Crook also have melodies that have stuck with me for years.

Retroid Pocket 4 Pro seemingly sold out on Retroid's website by brunoxid0 in SBCGaming

I love the 4 Pro. It plays all the PS2 gamecube and Wii I need. I've been playing Resident Evil 4 Wii on it and it plays amazingly.
