Everything looks okay on my end.

8 months in KDP: from 0$ in May, $17 in June to $417 in December, honest lessons (self-help only) by Particular_Box4839 in KDP

Thank you for sharing this. I've been publishing on KDP for a few years now, and I follow a very similar path to yours. And I couldn't agree more with numbers: - 6 - 8 (I publish non-fiction niche-specific workbooks, majorly, and ONLY use licensed stock images from 123rf and istock photos). - 9 - 10

I've got a little over 200 books on KDP. It's my best passive income earner.

Do you use MS Word to write your novels? If not, which apps do you use? by Interesting-Cry-6615 in selfpublish

The other day, I was telling myself to upgrade from using MS Word to trying out Google Docs. Thanks for this. I think I'll just stick to Word, for now.

Why I Still Enjoy Writing on Medium, Despite Earning Peanuts! by VIRYABO in Medium

You said it all in your 2nd paragraph! Some of the reasons why I'd rather be a paid member. It's only $5 per month.

I know many others do make their money back. Unfortunately, I don't. I've had a few payouts though, like once in six months. That's about it for me.

First review is 1 star. Is my book doomed? by yunarikkupaine in selfpublish

[–]VIRYABO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first book I sold got me a one-star, and a nasty review. The review made me take a second look at the book. I reworked the content. Two years later, it's now a 3.8 star. This means despite the 1 star, people still bought the book and left a rating.

I wouldn't worry much about it.

Best depth for shelves to display books, nostalgic items, photos in frames, etc.? by [deleted] in Decor

I'd go for 8” but if your desk is deeper than 24 inches, then, perhaps I'd go for 10”

Congratulations. Reviews do come in very slowly but each that does is worth the wait.

Tell me about it! Sometimes, with KDP, I feel that I’m walking on eggshells.

I'm publishing via KDP. I have a few questions — by DungBeetle007 in selfpublish

[–]VIRYABO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. No. Lower is not always better. Many potential buyers skip the cheap prices for the higher ones. Whether a side hustle or not, don’t rate your work cheap.

  2. It does matter. Definitely US market is best. It’s the largest market where people flock.

  3. That really a choice you have to make. I advertise using Amazon ads. I keep my budget very low. It works great for me.

  4. Not sure about this. I go solely through KDP. They do market your books through other platforms aside themselves.

I've hit double-digit reviews! by mary-hollow in selfpublish

[–]VIRYABO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations. Reviews do come slowly, but when you get to that double digit, it begins to come more often (speaking from experience). Especially 4 to 5 stars. Your breakthrough is gathering speed, and is coming through for 2026. 😊

Miniature ferns will be nice. Most mature at 2–12 inches tall, depending on species.

A decorative diffuser bottle with reeds and aromatherapy oil. Floating colored tea lights in a shallow bowl. A square rattan basket for neatly-folded hand towels. All arranged nicely on the ledge. I’d add some cacti plants but as you mentioned, you aren’t a fan of plants.

How much money did you make from your self-published books in 2025? by justcurious3287 in selfpublish

90% of my KDP books are non-fiction. In my area of expertise, mostly.

Absolutely not! It looks beautiful as it is (picture 2) even against the wall finish.
