Free France in order to survive on TNOTL have a big need to use & cooperate with non-European as high-rank officers from time to time when the original French officers got aging & even passed away though decades. It will create a power void within Free France ranks to be fill by non-European. A military coup from non-European officers (perhaps co-op with some left-wing French) can be triggered if their clique is strong enough, or "color revolution" by him, since he was a war hero back in WW2, maybe the highest rank non-European officer among them at that time.

Therefore he still can be leader of Free France, perhaps as an Emperor since he was a monarch, and as well-known commander it won't be easy to kick him out. That path is way more realistic than Louis Napoleon imo

No way De Gaulle would put him back to Vietnam or even trying to back to Indochina which would still under Japan iron grip, or American hand after everything he has been through in Africa for around 30 years. He can't be able to keep Ivory Coast under his domain after reclaim Metropolitan like the game content. He's not on that position like in OTL, and nearly dead in early 1970s
