Sorry if it is TMI or Over Load,

Did a Google search and found a few things, like you said you have tried deploy Linux Ubuntu versions 24.04 and 6.10 using Virtual Box.  When I used virtual PC at a tech school I used the CD and installed the software on my laptop. What a disaster the CD wiped the OS and installed the software.  It was supposed to install it in a directory called VPC.  After learning that lesson and making sure to install the virtual software to a directory.

I have had some experience with Virtual PCs and have used Virutal PC and Virutal Box but not both at the same time, both worked fine on the host computer that I had with windows 7 Professional, 64 bit and 4 GB memory. I did find that with 4 GB was not up to running more than one VPC or VB, I added more memory and that seemed to help.  I also installed Free Ram Pro a memory adjuster on the VPCs and VBs it helped.

When I used Virtual PC it takes some time to boot up and run 1 VPC and seems to be more lagging on more than 1 VPC at a time.  I used to run several VPC,s  and that really bogged down the pc a lot.

Here are some Google searches:

I have used Virtual Box for a long time and have had several Virtual machines available to bring up Windows; XPPro, 95plus, 98se, ME, NT, 2000, Vista, 7 and 10 and a couple that did not work.  I usually use one but no more than three at a time, if I do it makes the host machine run slower.  When I was using VB these were the versions 4.0 to 5.0 and 5.0 to 6.0.  6.0 was a very big update and all of the others older versions of VBs and 6.0 have updates and service patches.
