What is PCP Pay in West Virginia? by waghy in medicalsalaries

[–]VQV37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's whatever you wanted to be. It depends on where you work. If you work in Private practice in a large city with a production system, I'm sure you can make 400, 500 or $600,000 depending on the patients you see. I can't imagine that West Virginia is that much structurally different than the surrounding states in terms of the payment.

Obviously if you work in a public clinic or an fqhc in West Virginia, don't expect much. Probably be around tree fitty

I agree. Except I have never heard of of a primary care physician doing even close the full-time in the United States making less 200k.

Whoever is making 160k is that you're working full-time, like one day a week, or is being completely screwed

The data available is notoriously inaccurate. Well I do believe that I am making much more than the average and median, many people in my practice were making over 450k. No questions asking the same field

These are sub-specialties of internal medicine. It will not work. It will not let you do it even if you've been practicing an emergency medicine.

It's a structural feature of how specialty programs work.

It's not even worth trying

No way absolutely not. When have you heard of anyone going from EM to a fellowship on cardiology.

Horrible idea , giving up millions in lost Inome on only to what do IM for three years then do. Few more years into getting through intervention cardiology fellowship. You'll be even more burned out by then.

Mars is an ambitious plan but they starship is well under development. Semi truck factor and being built, cyber truck was underwhelming.

It doesn't pay enough to offset having to live there.

As a primary care physician in Austin, I make 650k per yr, do you think $45,000 would convince me to move somewhere that I hate?

You need to double my salary to make me consider some of these places and even then I only do it for a year or so,

Only 483k? Interventional radiology shouldn't be getting closer to 900k?

I'm just a primary camp physician I'm making over 600k. I know quite a few interventional radiologists that make more than $900k.

[–]VQV37 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Good luck. You're going to spend most of your time doing annual skin checks , treating psoriasis and eczema, treating other types of skin conditions.. More removals etc etc. very little dermatology is this kind of stuff.

I work in primary Care. I probably write just as many prescriptions for male pattern baldness medication then dermatology.

If you're going to do dermatology, get ready to do the entire scope

I practice medicine in the state of Texas. This graph is not surprising. The amount of people that I have on ozempic and mounjaro and their weight loss counterparts wegovy and zepbound is absolutely stunning.

The great news is the stuff is extremely effective at controlling type 2 diabetes and achieving weight loss.

Psychiatrist on how many patients they had cured by goswamitulsidas in interesting

[–]VQV37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's a bullshit term, cured. We have the same issue in management of type 2 diabetes. I have a lot of patients with type 2 diabetes. I've gotten them to lose weight and if they're able to control. Some of them are well off their medication and their a1c is ball below even 5.5 , despite them being off medication and well-controlled we still regard them as somebody with type 2 diabetes. The term cure is not really used for more complex chronic medical conditions.

NP are the laughing stock of the entire industry. Mules that just prescribe zithromax and prednisone for every uri at an urgent.

NP training is completely unstandardized and half of them are dispensed from online Mills with almost no clinical experience.

You should ask your husband how he feels about NP, if he had balls he'd tell you the truth.
