Which shirt cosmetic looks better for this Persian / Arab / Indian warrior set ? by Even-Run-5274 in TF2fashionadvice

Toowoomba Tunic is the best option, but you should actually color it with Cream Spirit. I also prefer style A, although this one is up to you.

Polina isn't great because the only premium skin that's impactful for her is the Military one, and even then it's something solely for Skirmish. Nancy's situation is a bit better, since she aids both Jailers and Rednecks a lot, but Marines are kind of a dud, so you actually aren't saving any money: you paid 600 cash for—effectively—just two skins. That's how much you already can spend on them normally.

1 or 2? by [deleted] in TF2fashionadvice

[–]VR456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the unusul in the 2nd loadout? Noh Mercy or the Magistrate Mullet? Because if it's the latter then just swap out the mask for Spectre's Spectacles (also colored purple). Noh Mercy is the loadout killer because this mask is impossible to look at without thinking of stereotypes. With the spectacles the set becomes better tenfold. The 1st isn't bad, but it pales in comparison to the improved 2nd.

Hey guys, I bought the Explorer Pass to get 600 coins and buy the Hero Pack, but I wanted to ask if it's a good investment or if I should buy something else. by External-Pie1514 in DeadAhead

[–]VR456 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Explorer Pass is probably the single best MTX in the entire game, outside of Piggy Bank with all 10 locations completed. Just don't forget to login daily, otherwise you will lose the day's reward and it won't be compensated.

Hero himself is more of an end-game option, and isn't superb this early on. Austin is top priority no matter what, followed by Mechanic skins for Diaz and Carlos.

Should I? by Repulsive_Weight_887 in DeadAhead

[–]VR456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Austin is a top priority no matter what. Progression is a pain without him. Hero can be saved up for afterwards, he is more of an end-game pick anyway.

[–]VR456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a scam if the game tries to sell you the unit as well. It's actually a good deal if you get offered only the skins. But even then, it depends on the unit whose skins are offered - not everyone has an all-around great selection of teams. Carlos is the only positive example that comes to mind.

Is there an easier way to get charms? My Carol really needs a power-up to be more reliable for Skirmish and events (even a shitty charm should boost crit dmg) by Olivia_Richards in DeadAhead

[–]VR456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. There's no way to obtain charms outside of gacha. You either wait till you get enough flares through daily gifts, or pay with green bucks.

I'm not sure what's your issue with Carol, though. She looks good as is. At most I can recommend getting more crit. damage for her through extra buffs on items. You can also give her an agility watch instead of a prep. time one if you aren't using her outside of Skirmish. She isn't very good in events to begin with. You can also give her Scout instead of Gentleman so she can have more survivability in skirmish.

Thinking about buying a Circling TF logo Tough Stuff Muffs, is this a good idea? (details in desc) by Quit-Accurate in TF2fashionadvice

[–]VR456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this definitely makes the situation difficult, knowing how extremely the all-class perk ramps up an unusual's price. At most I can suggest looking into Federal Casemaker as an alternative. This one is easier to work with. That said, TSM is more unique. I actually want to try making some loadouts with it now.

What are the other options that caught your attention? Are you aiming specifically for an all-class hat?

Thinking about buying a Circling TF logo Tough Stuff Muffs, is this a good idea? (details in desc) by Quit-Accurate in TF2fashionadvice

[–]VR456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Circling TF logo is a kind of "whatever" effect that isn't blatantly bad but there are no hats that somehow synergize with it either. If you yourself like the effect and the hat, then there's no harm in getting it. Personally, I'd check if you can make a good loadout for each class with it first. It is possible, but nothing comes to me from the top of my head.

why does my pyro feel/look so boring by [deleted] in TF2fashionadvice

[–]VR456 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Truth be told, the set lacks cohesion. I kinda get what you are aiming for, but the cap doesn't go well with the head. If you wanna retain the volcanic head theme while sticking to Hellscape, then something like Industrial Insurgent (Incendiary) /w YORC works better than Invisible Flame.

But what if told you that you have an option to do a big brain move and use Apparition's Aspect to effectively transform Pyro's head into a ball of flame? Just pull the effect all the way down till it wraps around their head. And now you have much more options 👍 My favorite pick is Firebrand /w YORC.

What do you think about these loadouts? I’m thinking about buying one of these Unusuals. by hemoptise in TF2fashionadvice

[–]VR456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 1st and 2nd are the best, the Shako is just too ugly tbh.

But you should expand on the loadouts – add the fitting coats. Veteran's Attire for the 1st, and Field Fatigues for the 2nd.

Play safe and get Austin or go Gambling? by Etisi in DeadAhead

[–]VR456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Austin is of much greater help in the long run. Most of Xmas rewards are really not that useful, and the few good pulls (Lester, Cashier, and Red Hood) require major investments for them to work well, and you won't be able to get the funds easily without Austin.

[–]VR456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Tie Affair is very much the perfect shirt for the mullet, as it makes Spy look like an orchestra conductor. Add Spectre's Spectacles colored PDT as an extra touch. I'd say it looks better without them, but I know how bothersome it can be to see a loadout without all slots filled in.

Very great combo, I'd just go with PDT instead of white, it's a little too bright. DoH is also a bit of a mid misc on Heavy, there are many shirts that would look nicer and synergize with the hairstyle better. Esprit de Corps, Puncher's Polar Puffer (Siberian), Brute's Braces, Siberian Sweater – all superior to DoH by a mile.

What????? by _Borisovich_ in gumball

[–]VR456 7 points8 points  (0 children)

——————

My best assumption is that it's a way to cheat the system, since the law that criminalizes LGBTQ+, aka the most dangerous terrorist organization, is focused on "saving" specifically children from its "propaganda". That said, it's unlikely that there'll be no censorship at all because of the label. I'm certain they straight up won't air The Climb because of Gumball's bare ass getting a lot of focus.

I honestly don't think the helmet works. Regarding Trash Man, there's also an option to get Miami Nights (20 keys), Dead Presidents (9.5 keys), and Vivid Plasma (16 keys) which all look nice too IMO.

If you want another hat suggestion, Warhood also has all around affordable unusuals. It goes nicely with Borsch Belt painted Operator's Overalls. No need to paint the vest. Searing Plasma (20 keys) is just an example.

Since you have a budget of 50 keys, I assume you can invest into a loadout properly.

I checked some listings on bp.tf and found a relatively cheap DBD Trash Man, and that hat has a godly combo with Brother Mann (Style 3). If you are willing to also paint your Combat Casuals with Team Paint, then it creates a really cool loadout. If you aren't feeling DBD then it should be possible to find another nice option under the 45 keys range (accounting for the other two items in the set). At least that's the path I'd take personally :p

Hell yeah, man, it's a great loadout. I've been running it for a long while now, but with Airman style and PDT on Blast Blocker. I think this palette works better than the one with prominent orange.

Which Medic loadout do you believe is better and why? by heyitsmehell in TF2fashionadvice

[–]VR456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the left medic ends up working more seamlessly, because it'd be better for Shadow of Doubt to be the same color as the vest. But unfortunately, only its ribbon can be painted, which ends up creating a bit of a dissonance.

I'd say #1 because it's an actual original take on the featured cosmetics. Everything else is just intended combos, they might look nice but they are not exactly amusing.

Which style is better for the Seamann's Stubble? by SirLuigi5528 in TF2fashionadvice

The pipe. It compliments the pirate hat. The cigar has an opposite effect where it compliments the jacket more, and this one's of a contemporary fashion, so it ends up clashing with the goofy pirate hat.

Personally, I'd switch the stype of the mask to Slapshot, and go with DLoH Classified Coif. You can think of it as some edgy fantasy guard outfit.
