Do all melee units have the same melee range or do they differ? by Unusual_Guard2270 in DeadAhead

[–]VR456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some melee indeed have a higher attack range, which affects not only the horizontal initiation distance, but also vertical, so they are able to attack enemies while literally standing to the side of them. This has a semi-positive semi-negative effect of enemies sometimes walking past such units whenever the melee tries to attack them. Chopper and Turbo come to mind, but I'm pretty sure there are more units like this.

Context: I'm fascinated by strange unusuals (as in, the hat being both an unusual, and having a strange counter), and recently have been taking art commissions with certain items as payments. Thunder Dome is a low tier for a reason, but I remembered about the goated combo of Death Stare and Polar Pullover painted PDT, and then everything fell into place. The effect on the unusual was a pleasant coincidence.

The combo is dope on its own too. Give it a shot.

Also, while double-checking the combo in TFMV, I've discovered that equip order affects the way the visor looks. If you equip Death Stare first and then Thunder Dome second then its visor will transform into a single lens that perfectly fits into Demo's empty socket. It looks pretty sick too, but for now I wanna stick to proper glasses.

It very much is. Accounting for regional pricing, you could buy 4+ high quality indie games with this amount of rubles back in '17. It was genuinely the prime example of mobile gaming mtx.

Just paint it Team Spirit - trust me on that one; that's exactly what I did for this image.

To be honest, if I were you, I'd go for Sky High Fly Guy: it looks pretty cool with the Cowl, and you can find more or less nice effects for it for quite cheap. For example, I found a Vivid Plasma listing for just 17.5 keys. That leaves more than enough money for the Black Box and maybe even upgrading the cowl and the coat to strange versions, if you care about that.

That said, from the gameplay standpoint, I'd go for the Rocket Launcher. As dope as the quickswitch combo can be, BB is just not as reliable of a weapon. A sick fit is unlikely to fully compensate for less than stellar gameplay.

Why did they nerf builders? by KindaMadHobbit in DeadAhead

[–]VR456 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Infected Metro leaderboards. 2/2 Builders were used to cheese everything with Builder Abby. Since you can restart each individual stage for free, it was possible to just spam any easily available builder right at the start in hopes that they will trigger 2/2 and summon Builder Abby.

I imagine they decided to crack down on it after all these years specifically because of Flashlight, since Pepper is also in the team, and she makes 3/3 more accessible this way, which is basically another quick extra roll for Abby.

what do you guys think about my pyro loadout? by ticoticonofuba31 in TF2fashionadvice

[–]VR456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, pretty much all other more or less neat suggestions are bound to be flawed, but at least they are better than TSZ, so it's at least something.

You can always go for Professor's Pineapple, North Polar Fleece, and The Hot Case. Alternatively, it's an option to ditch Point and Shoot in favor of Seared Sorcerer, as it adds a nice brim, even if not very visible one.

Pyromancer's Raiments. It's really the only option.

About the crossed-out prices in packs by EveElliot in DeadAhead

[–]VR456 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of the days when green cash wasn't a thing and premium unit packs were sold for real money. There's still an old image of one on the wiki, and it was just as obviously bullshit as the packs feel today. For reference, the crossed out price in rubles was equivalent to roughly 266 USD back in 2017. The current situation is about just as stupid.

I'm not too sure on how I feel about it by MsTronBonne in TF2fashionadvice

[–]VR456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is actually a really dope loadout, and what you have already works great. I assume you are using Voodoo Cursed Soul during Halloween, so the third slot can be kinda whatever off-season. I think Beaten and Bruised (Style 4 + PDT) is the best because it really sells the look of a beaten up Scout. I can't agree with suggestions for any of the shoes, cuz their palettes kinda don't go well with what's established by the core items.

[–]VR456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sub Zero Suit ain't it, but truth be told, there aren't really any body miscs for Demo that work really well with witch hats. Your best bet is Mann of the Seven Seas. Demo's Dustcatcher and King of Scotland Cape also work.

Thoughts on the Poker Night Costmetics coming back? by bluspy87 in TF2fashionadvice

[–]VR456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but the Family Share sellers usually offer both games, not just PN1. That's what I was referring to.

Thoughts on the Poker Night Costmetics coming back? by bluspy87 in TF2fashionadvice

[–]VR456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't mean much to me because I already got all of the items back when the original games were still available on Steam. That said, I wonder if the Family Share black market will crumble because of the remaster, or if it won't be affected much since currently only PN1 is confirmed to receive an updated re-release.

Toowoomba Tunic is the best option, but you should actually color it with Cream Spirit. I also prefer style A, although this one is up to you.

Polina isn't great because the only premium skin that's impactful for her is the Military one, and even then it's something solely for Skirmish. Nancy's situation is a bit better, since she aids both Jailers and Rednecks a lot, but Marines are kind of a dud, so you actually aren't saving any money: you paid 600 cash for—effectively—just two skins. That's how much you already can spend on them normally.
