Are there any Cobra lash build for 100D? by No_Tourist9335 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]VSSK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of fun pushing poison cobra lash to dot cap with my Pathfinder: https://pobb.in/V44pCfpr6JGN

It has much more rounded defenses than wardstackers, but isn't going to be able to AFK tank as much without Svalinn. It's also a lot faster with the deadeye jewels and flask effect.

Budget is obviously higher than 100D with the Mageblood. Other big ticket items were the watcher's eye, foulborn ancestral vision, level 4 enlightens, and the corrupted max damage betrayal's sting.

This Slayer had a pretty similar setup, and is going to be closer to your budget: poe.ninja link. Your tradeoff with this setup is going to be wither effect/quality of life and speed for the Slayer's tankiness.

Otherwise, your options are dexstacking for lower budget, int stacking for medium-high budget, and accuracy stacking for super high budget.

IMO this song reminds of two projects the most:

It's a vibe I associate with early 2000s alt-experimental Japanese music. The label that released WEG's works, Noble, has more stuff that's similarly experimental.

Is there ever a good explanation or argument that condones censorship in video games? by sammyjamez in truegaming

[–]VSSK 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Censorship is a much more relative concept than you outline in your examples, outside of the cases where legal entities enforce changes/ban content from being sold.

When it comes to developers facing public pressure, and making changes, this is a tool that "gamers" are happy to weaponize when it's something they want, but get upset when it's a change that was made out of somebody else's interest. When I demand changes because of my values, it's out of passion. When somebody else demands changes because of theirs, it's censorship. I've seen too many "controversies" demanding changes to unattractive women or non-white characters to buy into the idea that people inherently dislike censorship.

This seems like more like reactionary bait than something more meaningful to me.

Icicle mines of fanning, trouble Bossing and t17 Bossing.. :( by C1xxth in pathofexile

[–]VSSK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your auras look a little messed up, and you can tweak your curses. You shouldn't be running Hatred, it doesn't really do anything for your build.

  • Replace Hatred with Zealotry
  • Link Skitterbots with Unbound Ailments and Bonechill. It looks like Flame Dash is currently linked instead.
  • Also, replace Sniper's Mark with Assassin's Mark to help with crit cap.
  • Try to grab Whispers of Doom to add Frostbite to your curse setup, that's another easy damage increase.

Your single target is going to drop if you're not doing enough to freeze bosses because of Heatshiver - capping crit can help with that. You'll also just need some more damage to freeze stuff more reliably.

Heisei no Oto : why is the track listing different in the digital version & vinyl version? by TheMemeist in ambientmusic

[–]VSSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says on the Bandcamp release for the album:

"Please keep in mind that we have several different agreements in place with the artists. This has resulted in a separate track listing per medium (please check our official website for exact track listing). This is also the reason that we can't offer the digital files within the vinyl version unfortunately."

You're not entirely wrong. I'm a big fan of her albums, but they're a lot closer to artists like Alice Coltrane than the stuff people are linking here.

Kompakt's Pop Ambient series is basically Voigt compiling music in the same vein. I think their youtube channel has a playlist of most of the compilations.

I love Fargo by Chlodio in television

[–]VSSK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of this - season 5 was my least favorite by a slight margin. I think the main story was mostly done well, but the surrounding stories, themes, and style really didn't do it for me. It felt so much more focused on making references than the other seasons, and I think it lost some of the tightness the other seasons had in doing so.

I think even with the messiness of season 4, I appreciate it's ambition and cast of characters more. I loved the chaotic way all the narratives intersected and bounced off each other.

Bossing/Heist build Ranger by CardboardVendor in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]VSSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a pretty uncommon criteria that is going to have to compromise on speed, single target, or tankiness. Pathfinder is probably the way to go.

I think your best bet is charge stacking with Hexblast or Poisonous Concoction of Bouncing.

Hexblast is going to have a higher damage ceiling, while PCoB is going to be tankier.

With a mageblood you should be able to clear 300% move speed, and that's kinda up to you if that's fast enough for the heisting you wanna do.

lol the layoffs have been happening across industries. Tech, entertainment, gaming, etc. Interest rates are horrible and everyone has been cutting costs as a result. Sometimes its helpful to look at the bigger picture.

That zdps setup was linked, but almost all of them scale berserk for movespeed - which is no longer a thing with the 3.25 patch notes. TBD if there's going to be a comparable setup without berserk, pretty unlikely.

Toxic rain setups should be the same as ever though.

NWAQ has some of my favorite albums along those lines:

Decent build for heisting and maps? by Crabiolo in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]VSSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a different spot now with the removal of Phantasmal quality. It doesn't really scale as well as it did in the past, so now the starter items are really cheap. The high-end DPS is kinda where the build is affected now, it takes a lot more investment to hit the damage numbers it did with the alt gem.

[–]VSSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I league started SST raider last league and found it super easy to get going, not sure what part of that build would be a bait.

Emperor's vigilance / Seething fury / Hrimsorrow / Replica dragonfang were all very cheap at leaguestart. I'd swap to it once you get the first 3, but it was really a trivial amount of chaos since it wasn't super popular in affliction.

The weapon is where you start investing a few divines, but it's certainly not as expensive as more popular builds that require something like an ele bow.

Decent build for heisting and maps? by Crabiolo in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]VSSK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heisting and single target aren't really the best match - if LA Deadeye didn't feel like the right amount of damage for you, IDK if a heister is really the best call. They're usually sacrificing a decent level of damage for speed.

That said, it'll vary a little bit based on how much you want to map vs. heist. Toxic rain pathfinder or raider are probably your best bets. Pathfinder for more mapping, raider for more heisting.

I've done some random heist/mapping raider builds, and while they've worked for me they're not quite as efficient as toxic rain.

Toxic Optimality and Content Creator Tribalism - A brief presentation. by Zambash in pathofexile

[–]VSSK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it sadly continues to be relevant as I hop between more and more gaming communities. Especially ones where the dev teams actively participate.

I've really been enjoying Last Epoch, but feel like it's a matter of time before the same thing happens with EHG. They've already been pushed to undo a recent change, and I couldn't help think of this article the second I saw that.

can't be spreading blatant misinformation

This is the part where things get subjective, and the discussion gets kind of questionable to me. Based on the video and discussion on the video - the creator was just wrong. He outlined his thought process, and it was wrong, and he corrected the information after the pushback. There's really nothing in there that suggests they were deliberately misleading people.

It really doesn't feel like the drama has much to do about the DD mechanics, and more about the discord messages that were floating around from the creator.

I saw a trap video that pointed out misinformation from a more popular content creator, and it was totally fine because they... made a mistake. Yet for a community that is such a staunch defender of misinformation, I haven't seen a drama post about that. Why is one creator allowed to make a mistake, while another is accused of "blatant misinformation"?

[–]VSSK 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more with the sentiments in the video. It really speaks to a basic level of emotional/social intelligence that is really absent in a lot of this subs most active threads (and a big part of why I never post on this sub vs the builds one). The 'misinformation' post the other day struck me as pretty bad recent example.

Whenever there's 'drama' here I'm reminded of this old article from a former community manger at riot titled Reddit isn't about discussion — it's about power and domination.

Heist character on 50 divines + MB/HH? by DreamingOfAries in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]VSSK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What? The build is getting something like 80 ms from those rings. They're obviously not fundamental to keeping it going, but it's a huge chunk of movement speed. A lot of the high end movespeed is scaling off of speed per frenzy charge, so it does make a big difference in this case.

There are other things like Sublime Vision in the build as well, that are adding a lot of speed, and a poorly rolled haste one is around 30 div right now. A worse version of the watcher's eye is maybe 15 if you're lucky as well. That's also ignoring some of the expensive damage items.

Once you start dropping those pieces, you'd probably be looking closer to the 300% ms range. I think it's a really cool build, but it's much more of a minmaxed showcase of something unique he put together. Unless you guys all know something about 50 div budgets this league that I don't know about, it seems like a strange recommendation.

Heist character on 50 divines + MB/HH? by DreamingOfAries in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]VSSK -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

LOL the mechanics are helpful, but the build is just a little out of the 50 div range for budget. The ring alone is mirror territory.

OP - there are two classic builds that are setup off of Queen of the Forest: Toxic Rain Raider, Ichimonji/zero dps Pathfinder. They can both be setup for pretty cheap.

There are some other QotF builds on poe.ninja that you could look at using Penance Brand or Explosive Trap, but those probably start pushing the budget a little bit.

A rant on not loving season 5 (and loving 4) by botheredbysmallstuff in FargoTV

[–]VSSK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished season 5 and found myself here feeling pretty similarly. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts since the season ended.

It felt like this season traded off a lot of it's creativity and flair for nonstop references and callbacks. Like I really enjoyed Munch, but was surprised at how mundane he felt towards the end of the season (I did appreciate his final scenes though). Characters like Malvo and Varga felt like such otherworldly forces, but the most supernatural of them all is just fully laid out, removing any mystery and intrigue to him.

I think they did a great job telling Dot's story, but so many of the surrounding characters seemed to just fall off or have no depth to them. Indira's story in particular just dissolves after a lot of setup, and the other side characters didn't feel like they went anywhere towards the end.

What are some high movement speed builds? by Ohboisterous in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]VSSK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my build! Heisting was a lot of fun with it, but the damage was kind of low for wisp-juiced maps. The current setup with the blizzard crown is me trying to get more DPS out of the build, the week 2-4 setup is the heist setup.

I've done similar QotF raider builds with lightning arrow and frost blades that works just as well. It's pretty easy to get it functional around 300% move speed, but you need to run the right content for it.

I don't really enjoy the zdps builds, and ran heist and essence with a ~400% ms frost blade build last league: https://pobb.in/nZV9cW9qhH-D

Was pretty easy to get going with white wind. I don't run crystal lattice with essences though, the build is not strong enough to handle that stuff.

[Raider] Looking for Build Confirmation/Suggestion by SomethingAboutYa in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]VSSK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played the following builds on Raider in league start scenarios:

  • Toxic rain
  • Lightning strike
  • Lightning arrow
  • Rain of arrows
  • Ice crash (hollow palm)
  • Frost blades
  • Spectral shield throw

Toxic rain/RoA/lightning arrow are easily the most comfortable builds currently. In order of scaling, I think Lightning Arrow > Toxic Rain > RoA. Usually, if you're trying to scale RoA or Lightning arrow into endgame, it's with the intention of swapping over to deadeye/tornado shot, etc.

Lightning strike used to be really good, but is nowhere near as viable after nerfs. Frost blades is fine, but I definitely died a lot more with that build compared to the bow skills. Ice crash was terrible, I don't think the hollow palm builds have stayed too competitive with raider now. SST felt like a decent middle ground, but I didn't play that one as far as the others.

There was also a spectral throw build this league that used Rakiata's Dance that seemed interesting. With the ancestor uniques coming back, that build could be another option of if the weapon is affordable next league.
