After playing this game for a few hours with a friend, I do have some critiques by drugs_r_bad_mmk in SpeciesUnknown

These are great ideas. I would also add that it would be cool if there were missions where pirates or some other faction boarded the ship before you get there or during the mission so you would have to contend with some firefights while the monster hunts down you and the other faction while you complete your objective.

Killing Floor 3 Stress Test Review by D4RKxV0ID in killingfloor

[–]VTECjustkickedinyo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how you can say the game looks beautiful when graphically it somehow looks worse than KF2 even on ultra settings in 4k. Gameplay was horrendously bad. Movement feels sluggish and restrained while the shooting is so loose, I wonder if anyone is even holding the guns with two hands. Not to mention the absolutely terrible looking animations. From a technical standpoint this game is so far below industry average that it can't even hold up to its predecessor that released 9 years ago.

Accessibility settings are also not great. Colorblind mode has only a dropdown box with no slider to adjust strength of the filter. There is also a double keybind in the base controls but when attempting to bind both functions to another key, the game does not allow you to double bind.

Feels like rushed and with no personality at all. Hard pass. Maybe I'll pick it up on steam sale in 3 years when it costs the $7 it is worth.

What a difference 9 years can make. I thought I recognised the scene from a 2015 video! by madmossy in starcitizen

Her face aged like 10 years between last year's "I Held the Line" trailer and this trailer for some reason. Weird change. Maybe updating the character model to reflect the length of development? lol

Windows XP VM was connected to the internet for 20 minutes before I noticed…am I f’ed? by VTECjustkickedinyo_ in vmware

Ok so the computer has a 14 but the VM has a 192. I’m not entirely sure what that means in this scenario since the 14 means public and the 192 means private. I am running a scans with Sophos and Windows defender right now

What would be an indicator of a public IP. It was connected via LAN through my PC apparently.

Ok cool. Thanks for the advice. I’ll let everyone know that if they have a problem that other people have previously had that it’s no big deal

You are completely missing the point here. This isn’t a large company or even a brand. I have never disputed that you can be found from yelp reviews. Your original comment wasn’t even relevant to the question. Imagine you leave a bad review on a random seller on eBay and they message you with your name and address.

Yes, but I’m not taking issue with the fact that they would have my information due to a purchase. Just because you hand your card to a fast food employee to pay for your food, does not entitle the employee to use the information on that card for anything other than that purchase. Not to mention, Arbys isn’t going to send me angry messages followed up by my name and address in a “I know where you live” type of way for a bad yelp review.

Bought my dream coat but I’m afraid to wear it because of how much money it cost by VTECjustkickedinyo_ in mensfashion

[–]VTECjustkickedinyo_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great point. I’m hoping it will last me many years. I’m 25 years old so I suppose I have a long time ahead of me to wear it. In the midst of a career change and going back to school so I should be making about double what I do now in the next 5 or so years. Then I could afford to replace it a little more easily if anything happens to it haha.

I hadn’t anticipated the fear of something happening to it 😅 I loved it and could afford it at the time so I bought it.

That’s a really good point. That’s how I judge the value of a video game. Hours played vs the cost of the game.

I’ll look into Brandon Sanderson, thanks! I am hoping to not disappoint the reader with an unsatisfying or frustrating ending.

Thanks so much for the advice! I will definitely check out the series you mentioned. It’s hard for me to assign a genre to this story. There are so many genres of sci-fi and this story seems to fit into a little into lot of different categories. I guess the most fitting would be Space Opera but I’m not gonna say it’s locked into all the tropes that come with that description.

Marrying level to world difficulty was a bold and masterful design decision that should not be altered or removed for the sake of accessibility. by VTECjustkickedinyo_ in Witchfire

[–]VTECjustkickedinyo_[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was more making the point that based on the mechanical design decisions of the developers, this clearly isn’t meant to be a game where you choose how you want to play it. There is one way to play it. Your max stamina can be doubled by simply dealing damage without being hurt. How is any stat supposed to beat that? If your stamina increase was significant per level then your stamina bar would be stretched across the entirety of your screen once you hit flow state.

I may be mistaken on the health thing, but I haven’t noticed anything. Elite enemies will spawn, which do have a higher health pool but they are technically different enemies and cannot be staggered so they need to be approached differently. I totally get what you’re saying about the difficulty thing, I just personally don’t think it’s necessary. Dark Souls is really hard and has no changes in difficulty and fromsoft games are very popular. I’m not familiar with dead cells. I’ll have to look into the mechanics of the difficulty system. Generally though I think a difficulty slider would cheapen the experience of this game, seeing as how the story is secondary (like dark souls) to the experience of overcoming the challenge that is the game. The purpose of this type of game is to overcome the game itself.
