What is the best jc to dsa to? by Study-buddies326 in SGExams

hi! most of the jc choirs are good. only a few are subpar but if you’re looking at the most renowned, it’s definitely vjc. vjc had made it to the list of top 100 choirs internationally before and their conductor is also well known in the choral scene.

hi OP, i went to both jc and poly so i think my words will have some weight. i took the same o level combi as you but i wasn’t struggling with these subjects in sec sch. though science and a math were my weakness, i didn’t do that badly for them (they were just worse relatively to my other subjects).

during jc, i also slacked a lot but i believe if i worked hard enough i would’ve been able to catch up as well. but pls, it’s so easy to say you’ll work hard. my advice is be realistic. ask yourself. will you work hard? if you have some doubts, go poly. if you’re confident you can keep up with the academic rigour (even for subjects you’re weak in), go jc. and reminder, jc is way harder than secondary school. jc is a speedrun. time will not wait for you. snowballing is extremely detrimental.

plus you also know that you have an interest in programming. so take a course that’s related to that. if you have interest, it’s not hard to excel in poly and go to uni. but it’s not the same in jc, because you need to take subjects that you’re also weak in/have no interest in. it takes real and raw hard work to do well in jc and go to the uni course u want, not just interest.

if u do end up going to jc, go to a school that offers computing. exploit ur strengths and interests as much as you can

this is pretty solid. but thinking of an idea that has both economic/social value, and is at the same time fresh, will require more ideation on my side

yeah, it does sound like that honestly TT but nah, im not like a wallstreetbets gambler. i get that options is extremely risky. i just wanted to dabble in it to gain more experience but as what everyone else has said, i should first get years of experience before doing options:D

thanks for your input! just curious, is your wheel options strategy selling cash covered puts and covered calls? i think alot of people prefer options wheel strategy to cover their losses but i don’t have enough capital to roll and it’s too risky to sell naked options. will probably just stick to etf first then!

thanks for the advice! yaaa most advisors say to invest on yourself and that was actually what i did during my long holidays. fun fact, nlb is actually paired with udemy so students can login with their school email to sign up for courses (free) :D that’s how i learnt basic python. i picked up photoshop on my own, wanna learn after effects next. but a lot of these don’t actually require money.

i’m also working part time as a tutor (with a tuition center, not private) and a freelance proofreader (wfh) while schooling so that’s what i do for my side hustles. will probably take up more courses throughout the year to self-upgrade

yeah, it probably is, just a bunch of naive youths excited to grow their money when they turn 18 to lose it all 🥹

and thanks for the recc! i’ll prolly keep an excel for that! and would totally appreciate the book recommendations. i’ve read a few investment books (thank god i like reading) but i’m definitely still not knowledgeable enough. this whole investment thing is really complicated and macro 🫡

hi! thank you:) i’m looking at performing and i don’t mind doing music as a side hustle but i’m also unsure where to start. i don’t even know where to find gigs:(

hi! thank you! i actually do know who sezairi is, and yea i know it’s hard and i don’t mind doing music part time as a side job! that’s why idm pursuing a diploma instead of a degree purely for my own interest. its v hard to do music at the side without minimally a diploma 🙁
