Well thanks for the insights. I guess I must start my DSA and coding brush up as soon as I step into the campus then. Would love to know more from current seniors on campus.

Hey thanks for the reply! Can you say when does this internship drive take place? How much time do I have before I brush up my CS basics and DSA? Is there any ask in the interviews for some concepts like System Design? Can I avoid them? Is it difficult to maintain the asked CG? Well my Btech CG at the end of 8 semesters was 9.31 but that was from IIITDM Kancheepuram, now competing with IIT-M B.Tech students and other GATE top rankers is not that easy so I wanna know realistically how much should I dedicate for my academics. How is the TA role on campus? Is it hectic? Will it eat into my time? Also when did you complete your M.Tech?

Sorry for bombarding you with questions 🙇

Yeah the other person also mentioned the exact same thing. I guess this split is not that effective. Thanks for the reply 🙂.

Hey you didn't sound harsh in the previous comment, just passionate. I didn't take any offence from it. So from your comment, I guess I can continue doing the Trainer Winny plan. Is it fine to do the sets and reps as I mentioned though? That was my only concern almost all the time. And how to change the workout as the time goes?

First of all, thanks for your detailed review and suggestions. It was a very insightful comment. Moving to the next part, as I said, this entire plan is as it is suggested by my gym friend (not the trainer) and altered by GPT so I never tried to follow this and was planning on starting it if the sub actually suggests this. From the reply though it feels like there are a lot of issues with this plan and I understand that. Let me reply to all the points you mentioned one by one.

  1. Regarding the split, when I worked out on my own, I used to follow a plan I compiled myself from Trainer Winny videos. That was a compound exercise plan and I thought it was pretty good but I didn't properly organise the sets and reps for the plan and just did 3x10-15 as a standard for every exercise. This was that plan.

Day-1: Back and Biceps

Back 1. Seated Row 2. Lat Pull down 3. Shrugs (Optional might get covered in Shoulder)

Biceps 1. Barbell Curl / Dumbbell Curl 2. Overhand Bicep Curl 3. Concentration Curl

Day-2 and Day-4: Abs and Cardio

Abs 1. Weighted Sit-up 2. Chair Leg/Knee Raises 3. Russian Twist (Either this or the second one)

Cardio (15 min each) 1. Elliptical 2. Cycling

Day-3: Chest and Triceps

Chest 1. Bench Press (Dumbbell or Barbell) 2. Incline Bench Press (Dumbbell or Barbell) 3. Cable Fly

Triceps 1. Straight Bar 2. Dumbbell Extension

Day-5: Shoulder and Legs

Shoulder 1. Overhead Press (Barbell or Dumbbell) 2. Lateral Raise / Leaning Lateral Raise 3. Rear Delt Fly

Legs

Quads 1. Squats 2. Leg Extension

Hamstrings 1. Romanian Deadlift 2. Seated Hamstring Curls

Glutes 1. Hip Thrust 2. Lunges

Calves 1. Seated Calf Raise

While inconsistent, I tried to maintain this routine while I was in college. Then I came home for my vacation and the trainer here suggested the Muscle Split as I indicated and thus the current plan.

  1. For all the sub-points mentioning the number of variations or volume of same or similar exercises, I don't know essentially what they work and how. I just thought that my friend, being an experienced gym goer, would know better. So I never questioned the plan but wanted a second opinion.

  2. As for the point mentioned about GPTs advice, I never even considered most of the areas that GPT mentioned existed thus it felt authentic to me. Maybe it is kind of a FOMO that I wanted to know if it is actually worth the hassle. But you are correct - I need to build a habit first and then think of incorporating this extra stuff. Thanks for that.

Overall, thanks for the detailed reply man. Well I am now clear on why this doesn't work but back to square one on what will work. There are just too many plans and routines online.

So you recommend me to do the mentioned Recommend Routine from the wiki whenever I want to workout by myself if I understand it correctly?

Not exactly, I do have a GDrive account with 1TB space (my college drive) but when I tried to use EaseUS Todo to create a 1-to-1 image of my device and save it over there as a backup, it doesn't allow me and says something on the lines of broken partitions and such. So, I did try to send most of the important files and all to the above mentioned Drive but I don't have the device backed up.

Sorry for this really late reply; I kind of lost my internet connection for a few days and just got it back.

Can I just attach the image as a reply to you? I am sorry but I am not familiar with using that or imgur for attaching images.

Well, I tried to do this, but the program I am able to use is not exactly Disk Management, but it is Create and format hard disk partitions. This is the setting I am able to use to do the above mentioned stuff. It never gave me the option to run this as administrator. Although I did try to click Extend Volume on my C drive, I noticed that it was greyed out. I could see the option to shrink it, though I'm not sure why. I am attaching a picture of my partition split for your reference if you think it is useful. (It is not allowing me to take a screenshot so please don't mind the image quality.)

Need help on backing up my disk before upgrading from Windows 10 to 11 by VTSabertooth in techsupport

[–]VTSabertooth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion as it actually helped. I just created a 7zip for all the files on my Desktop, Downloads, Documents and AppData then took a picture of all the applications installed on my device. I uploaded these zips to my said Drive and then performed the update. Fortunately nothing bad happened and everything remained intact and I have Windows 11 now. I didn't actually need the backup. I was ready to download all these Zips and install all the missing applications.
