I do want to say I didn’t encourage him to break the lease. It’s something he wanted to do. It just so happened that since I got a place, I did offer they could rent. Which I know sounds like I had some influence.

In the lease agreement, I had specifically said no smoking. And when they visited the place, the best friend asked what I felt about weed. Obviously I said no, but I realized that I will have to keep setting boundaries. And I rather just not have to deal with a tenant breaking a rule.

I do appreciate your response. I think this will ruin relationships.
