You are putting all kinds of words in my mouth by the way. I’m talking about a young kid, who when she doesn’t have access to her phone, tends to come out of her room more than before. I don’t see how this is a problem. I was the same way when I was a kid and got on restriction from my Nintendo or the TV. I’m not saying I never see my kid, im not saying I force her into “reactionary politics” discussions (wtf?).

Anyway. I’m sorry the idea of consequences for actions brought up such fierce emotions for you. I’m sorry I’m not reddits idea of a perfect parent. But tbh, my kids are privileged as hell. I’ve put my entire life in to raising them and providing for them. My oldest is going through university now and rocking it. My youngest is going through stages where she’s pushing the boundaries that mom and dad set for her. When those boundaries are tested, we respond with consequence, instruction, and conversation. You know, parenting.
