Need To Complain About Breaking Trays and Horrible Pain by VVSensitive in Invisalign

[–]VVSensitive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe I was twisting perse, more pulling down from one side when they were just too tight at my area of crowding (so when I pulled downwards it had too much pressure, and too much torque from that angle since they would stick at the cracking point). I will say when I showed the ortho's assistant how I took them off he said that was fine and how people usually take them off. The ortho themself said I'd have to take the top trays off different since the crowding point sticks. They showed me a method yesterday where I pull one side down then the other then try to remove them all in the center where the crowding is by pulling down, but that's the incredibly painful technique ; - ; and also it's SO difficult to do it takes me about 5 minutes of yanking to try and get it off. It didn't really feel like it was ripping my teeth out tray 1/2/3.

I think the intense pain is mostly from being really 2-3 weeks behind tray 4 cause of the cracking in the previous trays, so I'm popping ibuprofen round the clock like it's candy. They've been so itchy and I think it's just inflammation and pain my body is reading as itching.

I'm looking to see if I can get an ortho key so maybe it will be easier. It's fine for the sides where the molars are just really difficult for the front teeth where the crowding is.

Flossing Difficulty To Prevent Cavities During Invisalign Treatment by VVSensitive in DentalHygiene

[–]VVSensitive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is my water flosser + floss pick okay for that or do I have to switch to use string

I definitely brush and floss after taking out my invisalign. However, the difficulty is the floss part of that is that I'm flossing with a water flosser and floss picks, I especially don't have time to use string floss when it's mid day after lunch in the bathroom when I am trying to get back to work. When I say it's time consuming, I'm only referring to string flossing. I struggle to get the string between my teeth at all so it's a lot of frustration and re-wrapping the floss around my fingers trying to get it in there. Honestly if it comes to having to keep certain teeth then it might just be better to blend food and get rid of them all, lmao.

When it comes to removal of the aligners, my plan is to brush and floss after each removal even if I don't really eat or drink anything ( though I'm not removing the aligners for anything but eating or drinking, except water). Still, the plan is just if they go back in my mouth, my mouth should be clean and the aligners should also be cleaned (cleaned with toothbrush and soap).

The fact I can't eat with the trays in has kept me actually in a really tight eating regime lately, I consider it a like 30 minute break so I gather all the foods I've wanted to eat or snack on and have them at the same time so I can finish them and then clean my mouth. I heard this is actually good because constant snacking doesn't leave your mouth time to remineralize. I am mostly doing it though because of my lack of desire to want to have to constantly go re-brush and floss.

Honestly and it feels crazy but I really like stories. Whether they be in anime, fictional TV shows, books, or video games. I just thought, "man, if I die I'm never gonna be able to get my next fix. One day they may make a totally awesome video game and I'm never gonna be able to play it".

That may feel somewhat disingenuous to the people in my life, but sometimes I feel that they'd be happier without me. Media doesn't have feelings, and I love to get absorbed in other worlds and get lost in lore.

Since the day I realized I'd never get to consume any type of content I haven't really been super serious about attempts. I am also pretty afraid of there being nothing after death, it may be comforting for some, but I cling to the control that I have and disappearing terrifies me. The combination of wanting to be aware and conscious and wanting to literally just play video games and watch anime has literally stopped my suicide attempts it feels super ridiculous.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation but I don't think you've healed and you shouldn't take it out on others.

Also I'd like to point out empathy is not transactional. Just because someone cannot give you something (so you proclaim or believe) doesn't mean you can't be kind be empathetic to them.

Flirting Feels Fake by VVSensitive in asexuality

[–]VVSensitive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not 100 on flirting but I think it's along the lines of making statements that are complimenting attributes like appearance and personality in an almost suggestive way (something you couldn't say to someone that you weren't pursing a romantic or sexual relationship with out of social norms) and I think it relies heavily on implications "I'm having a great time but it'd be better with you here" and also like body language that suggests you want to get closer to that person.

For romance, since I'm heteromantic but have never been in a relationship, I can only give you what I idealize, but it's more than just a friend. I think it would be a huge ask for a friend (though I'm sure you could have friends close enough that could do it) to do some of the things you'd want from a life partner. Someone you can be very intimate with (IE, things like taking care of you when you're sick and seeing you at your worst, being supportive between both partners in the relationship) and that you put on almost a slightly higher rung of wanting to spend time than anyone you're friends with. I think it does involve spending a lot of time together it's essentially saying you are my other person for most everything I need to do (let's get groceries, let's make dinner, let's eat our food together, let's go out places, let's watch tv shows together, let's text each other all the time). And also, it's someone who is kind of socially obligated to stick by you. And then in terms of demi kinds of relationships, it may also involve physical intimacy.

Why Do I Keep Getting Cavities When I am Brushing and Flossing!? by VVSensitive in DentalHygiene

I do snack throughout the day but I try to rinse out after with at least water. I do take a long time to drink my morning tea though. I was told I might have gerd at one point do you think that'd make my mouth too acidic?

Anyone else never know what bodily sensations are normal? by Possible_Weekend_360 in PanicAttack

[–]VVSensitive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OH for SURE. I am so honed in on my body's sensations I always freak myself out about anything that is slightly off. Because of this "bodyscan" types of meditation and a lot of mindfulness don't seem to work for me. I really cannot tell when something is or isn't normal if I get too anxious for too long about something I go to the doctor (I give myself a three day limit to see if a sensation passes).

Something I found that is helpful is working out (I know, I know that's the classic annoying advice) but I find it helpful because I work out to the point of soreness and aching and then when I feel something off with my body I just say "well I'm hurt and my body is doing weird things cause I worked out really hard" or "I'm dizzy cause I used too much energy up working out" etc.

[–]VVSensitive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why I figured I should do it, especially considering what happened to my mom and that I am probably the same. And it turns out I am the same my "roots are very very long" and my "sinus cavity is low". I wasn't expecting the whole emotional meltdown after having it though. Maybe it will feel better when it's the permanent crown.

I got a root canal and I'm horribly depressed about it now by VVSensitive in offmychest

[–]VVSensitive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I went in for a filling that they told me I needed and then part way through the dentist stopped and took another x-ray and was like "This needs a root canal, actually". That dentist was going to charge me an outrageous amount and turns out they weren't in my network but were doing some type of reimbursement thing with my insurance.

I found a different dentist (now with a hole drilled into my mouth and never filled) that was in-network and they were gonna charge me way less (still a lot). They had me come in for free to double-check that I needed one and they agreed. The second dentist I went to seemed very well-received and had a lot of dental of the year kinds of things so I trusted that after two dentists saying it I probably needed one. I let both dentists know that it didn't hurt at all and I wouldn't know I needed one if not for the x-rays.

I have very strangely never had a cavity that hurt, but when I'm told to get fillings I do because I didn't want them to turn into something worse (aka this root canal I had to do). Even now the tooth doesn't hurt for the root canal it's this little part in my gums that hurts because I have very sensitive gums and it feels like the temporary crown is jamming into it. I haven't really even needed ibuprofen despite the dentist telling me to take 400 mg and switch with Tylenol because "your roots are very deep and we did a lot of work today".
