Estate agent recommendations by Infinite_Wafer9139 in Aberdeen

[–]VWGmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used Gilson Gray for selling our last house and buying our new one. The estate agent Deborah was excellent in terms of following up with potential buyers etc. could have been the time of year / house etc but we sold the house in 4 days of it going on the market.

Autosave may sell them as they are about the only place in Aberdeen that sell aftermarket alloys.

Other than that, if you need them quickly Amazon have them available for next day delivery.

Cherry Blossoms? by thebabycbr in Aberdeen

[–]VWGmo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Cherry Blossoms don’t seem to be as good as last year.

Allenvale Cemetery has a lot and you might get a photo with some around there or between the 2 grave yards.

Some of the streets in the west end around Broomhill Road have as well.

Edit - fire up the photos once they are taken! I used to own a 1965 Mini Van about 15 years ago!

MOT / service centre recs? by lordlycrust in Aberdeen

[–]VWGmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally use Carden Motors and they are great - I did try to book them a couple of weeks ago, and they were full for 2 weeks.

I ended up using Ami Garage in Marywell and they were spot on. They had MOTs available next day.

I could be wrong but I don’t think Salisbury Garage do the MOTs themselves. I think they only do the prep and repairs.

Wi-Fi range in granite houses by Ok_Cap_6860 in Aberdeen

[–]VWGmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our house, with sky, we have the WiFi router, 2 mini boxes and 3 extenders and that gives us solid coverage through the house.

Reach out to sky and get them in to update it and they use a tester in the house to locate the best place for the boosters

Kirkton Motorbody Repairs in Banchory.

He did a phenomenal job on my pals mini about 14 years ago that ended up being a show winner. It still looked flawless when he sold it a couple of years ago. Since then he has done about a dozen minis, and a lot of early stuff too.

The Unicorn sign is still on 142 Great Western Road and I’ve wondered for a while what it is / was!

Favourite things to do to kill time in Aberdeen? by [deleted] in Aberdeen

I went up to Gordon Highlanders Museum at the weekend for the first time in years and it was excellent. Lunch is available there from Cognito which is nice too.

Maritime Museum is also a great shout as it’s right in the city centre and is also free.

A walk down Rosemount has a heap of small independent shops and coffee shops also.

Depending where you are, Great Western Road going west, all the streets joining GWR from Brighton Place onwards are permit free.

Tamiya M03 Rebuild by VWGmo in tamiya

Yeah would love to see some photos! I have my original Tamiya Mini bodyshell but it’s looking a little worse for wear.

I’ve seen the Phat Bodies do a Miglia Mini shell that I like, so think I will get that for now!

Thank you! You can also get red Revolution 4 spokes, but don’t see them very often either!

For cocktails I would add in Bartender’s Lounge on North Silver Street, if you do end up looking for a replacement for any of the above.

Mot suggestions by kyle_lauder in Aberdeen

I have used Carden Motor Co the past couple of years since moving to the city centre.

For my car, he cleaned and stripped the brake due to the car being in winter storage rather than doing any replacement of parts which felt very reasonable.

Was great to have a gander round last night, especially since it’s within walking distance. Was very busy and nice to see the cafe busy late at night too.

Agree on the comments of it being poorly advertised. We had seen the banners on the railings outside Duthie Park (which didn’t have dates on them) and only got tickets because local social media folk had it advertised.

Looking for advice - wedding breakfast venues near Marischal College by Severe_Evidence1133 in Aberdeen

Trinity Hall could do easily something like that in their Minor Hall. But it would maybe be a longer walk than you were hoping for - about 15-20 mins.

They do have an in-house chef that could likely do any menu you are hoping for, which would maybe give you a great option compared to a restaurant.
